This a Shame on you NPC!:(

There has and will always be a problem on campi!

We as Greeks always fight each other on campus so WE will stay on top!

It is not like on GC, where We all work with each other to help.

It is tooth and nail in the trenches to be on top!

Well folks, the weekest link could bring the whole thing down!

Ha you say, Bull shit I say!

When people do not find the F/S that they do not feel comfortable with, they do not join! Period!:( Ergo, WE as Greeks Have Less people out on campus to promote Greeks.

Do You Help Promote the lesser or smaller Groups---NO!

Do you Want Competition--No!

Do you want to be the Big Dog--Yes!

Does It Help Greekdom on Campus---NO!

On my Campus, do I hate other Greeks NO, DO YOU?

Even though I have Grad. along time ago, I realized that if we did not grow, the Greeks will suffer.

Some will bad mouth the opposition, and that would do it for me! I would not join them on a bet! F--k the bad mouthers. Small minded people!

Ok so just as kind of an update, last night our president told us that panhel would be letting the girls that pledged XYZ this last recruitment (fall 2003) depledge and not have to wait another year to join a house. Quota was 66 and I believe they bid 9 women. So now they are releasing these women, which I think is the fair thing to do, but it's just so unbelievably sad. I was hoping a miracle would come along this last recruitment, but I guess not. :( I am guessing since they are letting go of these women they will not be trying to pledge anymore women but I really don't know. I'm not sure if they'll shut down now or at the end of the semester...

I think it's just really hard when a chapter has to leave. Last year Sigma Chi had to leave and even though I only know maybe a handful of the guys, I still felt bad for them. Yes there were some guys who did a lot of stupid stuff and the best thing was probably to close, but still they have a bond just like my sisters and I do and I think it's sad to see that fall apart. :(

that totally sucks. :( Did they ever try to do an expansion rush after formal was over? That might work better than bringing in women from other schools and trying to compete in rush with the rest of the groups.

my heart goes out to these women. I hope everything works out for them. keep us updated

Do I need to post about everytime I her of a Greek Org. that leaves a campus??:(

I see this on many Threads and On a web server that I get the info from and it is saddening.

Now, We as Greeks Outside of GC have the opportunity to suck it up, and say Hey, WE NEED to help them. Why, well, it is simple!

Is each of your Chapters exactly want what an Individual on campus wants! Well, maybe No!

I do not want anyone to hurt my chapers advantantage no matter how small I and My Chapter is!:(

True aint it!???

HAHA When one dies, I guess It doesnt matter anymore!

Fab,
Thanks for the Panhellenic spirit!!! I wish there were more like you at every university with a Greek system! :)

I know this is now a moot point, as your recruitment is over, but I kinda wish that we had had this option while I was at school. My chapter was always the smallest one going through recruitment, and it was very difficult to arrange it to where the PNM's met more than one sister (if there's only one sister per PNM, youcan't rotate too well :p) I went to my collegiate chapter to "help" as an alumnae member....our PH has rules where alumnae helpers and TCCs can have only minimal contact with the PNM's....basically, passing out water, cake, etc. I think it would be to the betterment of every chapter (no matter which GLO) to have additional help on recruitment that, as others have said, show that the sisterhood is not limited to one chapter at a university, but all over the world. I'd have no problems with wearing a nametag that said "alumnae" on it (as a matter of fact, I did for the entire week!) Chapters at our university are SUPER supportive of my chapter, but when it comes down to recruitment, we all wish each other the best of luck and then wait until bid day to really say that we're so happy for each other on a great recruitment.

I hope that more and more PH's will bond together in unity to help out the struggling chapters, even if it did turn out to be too little too late for some of them.

I've also noticed that when alumna come to help or sisters from other chapters come to help all they can do is float or pass out water as polarpi mentioned. It seems that when a chapter is desperate and in serious need of help that the rules should be allowed to be bent a little. I mean the other chapters should be aware of what is going on but have absolutely no say in it whatsoever, it should be a decision based on panhellenic. One of our chapters went through a similiar issue this past rush, they only had 25 returning actives. The girls had to rush about 5 girls at a time. Sisters came from other chapters I guess to help but the school has a rule that only 'registered' sisters from the university can 'rush'. They should have allowed the sisters from the other schools to 'rush' but not 'vote', just state to the actives of the chapter 'here is what I thought of so and so'. Oh well, that is just my ramblings. Ignore em if you want. LOL.
