And what are YOU guys doing eh? Shouldn't you be in the army right now, if you're so active in supporting this decision?

I am involved in a number of anti-war campaigns, and petitions(Hi, I live in NY, land of social movement - well, one of them), and also am involved in activities geared towards supporting armed forces. Since I have no obligation to justify myself to people I never met and who never met me, that is enough for you to know.

And those who simply speak out regarding their feelings are not apathetic. Apathy would be staying silent without forming any opinion other than what either side's extremists spoon feed you. Forming strong and informed opinions is the beginning of the energy that moves someone to act. Don't underestimate that.

Boys and girls, didn't your mama ever teach you not to argue religion and politics??

What a boring website this would be if we didn't.

It'd be nothing but Fraternity/Sorority Life threads, "girls, what handbag/makeup/store/ is your favorite" threads , "dirty sex acts" threads, and "ooo, i'm having boy/girl problems" threads.

Nothing wrong with a serious discussion, even if it's heated.

I agree. If you don't want to debate, don't -- personally I know I try to stay out of the more heated threads. But I like reading them just the same.

I think other people's points of view are interesting, even if I don't agree with them. And usually reading other opinions just serves to make me more educated and more convinced of my own opinion because I realize how much I disagree with what other people are saying.

I don't think anybody's trying to change anybody's mind. They're just trying to educate.

Actually apathy involves action. BY saying your opinion on here and then not taking part in campaigns pro or con or doing toehr activities geared towards making a difference you are still apathetic. I recognize you can be agaisnt the war and not apathetic. I like you take part in rally's for the soldiers and Bush so I respect that you are taking a stand for your beliefs I just don't share them and after the hard facts wonder how you can feel that way....

Heated is better than luke warm....I'm enjoying our banter!!:D
