Yeah for me we had so much snow last night that classes are canceled! I am so happy because I was suppose to have a mid term in my politics of the middle east class and I really need the extra time to study!

SummerChild 03-16-2004 02:18 PM

It's flurrying here in Chicago. Hope that we all still come out and vote in the oh-so-important primary today.

Lots of snow but I'm spring break so I was in this week anyway. But I need to run out in an hour to pick up some papers. After that it's back inside the nice quiet, empty building so I can park wherever I like. :D

Gina1201 03-16-2004 02:52 PM

The forecast here calls for 6-12 inches of snow by tomorrow morning. DOesn't spring start on Saturday?!?!?!

60 degrees with rain in Charlotte, lol, but Cleveland has at least of foot of snow or more. I hope I can land tonight. :(

What's the weather like where you are?

FeeFee 12-23-2004 09:51 AM

It's 56 degrees with rain today.

Gina1201 12-23-2004 10:40 AM

Well, finally it's somewhat warm here. It's 45 degrees, which in Syracuse at this time of year is very warm. We're supposed to have a high of 50 today. :)

Two words for you, CT4, when you do get to Cleveland:

BUNDLE UP!!!

It's gonna be good 'n cold when you get there, temps will be no higher than 15 degrees until Sunday.

In other weather:

Here in Columbus, we got hit with EVERYTHING from snow to sleet to freezing rain. Most of the freezing rain fell during the night, so there is about an inch of ice on top of 2-5 inches of snow, depending on where you live in the city.

Where I actually live (outside the 270 outer belt, southeast of Columbus), we actually got less snow and more freezing rain; about 2-3 inches of actual snow, and about an inch of freezing rain/sleet.

Currently, the snow has now passed by, and it has cleared up, but temps (currently low-mid 20s) are expected to fall into the teens and single digits as the day progresses and night falls on the city. This will be a concern as ice on trees and power lines could result in power outages throughout the city, as it has already in some areas (north and east Columbus is experiencing power outages in some areas (about 120,000 customers w/o power as of 9 am this morning).

Franklin County is currently under a Level 2 snow emergency (don't go out unless necessary). However, Delaware, Union, Logan, and other counties NW of Columbus is under a Level 3 snow emergency (only emergency vehicles are permitted on the roads).

But thankfully, the worst of the storm is over.

OrangeMoon 12-23-2004 03:22 PM

SNOW DAYS ARE GREAT!!! My boss woke me up at 4 AM(I was wide awake praying the University would close) to tell me "The University is closed.":D I have an extra day to go shopping.

9dstpm 12-23-2004 05:51 PM

22 degrees and 3-6 inches of snow are expected today in Saginaw. It was a hard long drive to work today because of all the high winds and blowing snow. It will get down to 3 degrees tonight. I am off tomorrow. :D

I'm jealous. It is supposed to snow in Charlotte over the weekend. I need for it to snow SUNDAY NIGHT and through Monday so I can stay home.

Ideal08 01-19-2005 01:16 PM

Well, it's the first snowfall in DC. It's 20 degrees right now. But they are only expecting an inch to stick. I think it's about that much already.

Crossing them for you. I heard we had 10 flakes fall yesterday sometime here in Charlotte. I need more than 10 flakes. :( I read on News14.com that some kids in Wake County had to spend the night at school last night because roads were so bad.

Yep, some students and staff had to stay overnight at the school. I-40 going back into Raleigh was gridlocked for hours - I'm talking it took some folks 7,8,9,10 hours to get home!!! Other major roads were gridlocked as well and the best part is that cell phone service was interrupted for a time too! All that for 1 inch of snow - so you know if we get major accumulation this part of the state is going to SHUT DOWN!

10 HOURS TO GET HOME!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And my granny wonders why I stay HOME in the snow. I wish my granny had e-mail so I could e-mail her this. LOL

No cell phones either!!?? WOW!!

FeeFee 01-21-2005 09:40 AM

NYC is expecting a snow storm, beginning on Saturday and ending on Sunday with 6-12 inches of snow. :( :(

I am not made for Winter.

I heard about this. I gotta call my grandma (she lives just outside of Raleigh) and see how she's doing. I heard the stuff turned to ice, which is what happened when I was there when it snowed the day after Christmas too. It was beautiful, but it was cold and it got kinda icy.

Wonder about RBL too! He's in that neck of the woods.

OrangeMoon 01-23-2005 11:17 AM

 A foot of snow!!! I went outside to warm the car and clean it off. It didn't look that bad but whewwwwwwwww after I put that badboy in reverse. Saturday classes were cancelled, but I was on my way to campus. So, I just took a nice drive half way to campus in 4x4.:D

So later, I decided to go outside and help my brothers shovel the snow. After shoveling a nice path my younger brother snatched the shovel from me and told me “Go in the house it’s too cold.” :p I stayed outside to supervise and break dance in the snow.

 Classes better not get cancelled for Monday!

Well, you can come right up to Syracuse. We got around 14" since yesterday afternoon, which for us is nothing.

Well, Brooklyn got around 15" of snow. Do you know that Mayor Bloomberg decided to have schools open today? I need to write an Open Letter.
