Congratulations to your sister! I was reading this thread and just knew she was going to be a Tri Delt . . . I'm so glad she is! :)

shadokat 02-07-2003 04:05 PM

Congrats to your sister IowaHawkeye!! I hope she's very happy with Tri-Delta, as they are a great sorority. And don't worry, you'll get that legacy some day! In the meantime, get used to buying silver, blue and yellow!! ;)

MoxieGrrl 02-07-2003 04:06 PM

How did the rest of the University of Maryland sororities do?

Aphigal 02-10-2003 09:36 PM

Nine of 14 groups matched quota, but three of the ones who didn't were not far off.

Quota was 23.

Peaches-n-Cream 02-10-2003 09:45 PM

Is quota usually 23? It seems a little small, but maybe I'm used to reading about the huge Southern recruitment.

They had a higher number of women drop out of recruitment this year than in other years. I believe Panhellenic is discussing the causes of this with the chapters. Some of it may have been due to the cancellation of parties.

Lil' Hannah 02-11-2003 10:12 AM

Yes, quota is usually in the low 20's. I think the largest pledge class was 26, and three or four houses got quota plus.

shadokat 02-11-2003 01:47 PM

Anyone know which chapters made quota?

kddani 02-11-2003 01:54 PM

i know that KD made quota plus

bruinaphi 02-11-2003 02:23 PM

I believe that one chapter matched 25, seven chapters matched 24, one chapter matched 23, 21, 17, 16, 11 & 3.

Peaches-n-Cream 02-11-2003 02:28 PM

lauradav and Lil' Hannah, thanks for answering my question about quota. :)

I hope the chapters under quota COB.

I just wanted to update everyone on my sister :)

She's having a BLAST with Tri-Delt!! On saturday they had a sleepover with all of the new members - and although my sister was a little hesitant about her pledge class in the beginning, she LOVES them now. I think it was just a whole new experience and everyone was trying to act "cool" for the older girls :) They recieved their new member pins on sunday and she's so excited!

She told me they went to dinner with the women of DG on monday - but I'm not sure what she was talking about :)

I'll keep everyone informed about her pledging experience :D

Congratulations to your sister!

I'm so happy she had a wonderful rush experience.

Can you be more specific as to which houses made what numbers please?

Especially the ones who didn't make quota.

They deserve our support.

Thank you.

bruinaphi 02-13-2003 04:21 PM

You can PM me if you want to know about a specific chapter.

aabby757 02-13-2003 04:35 PM

Laura, I'm having trouble with the PM.

Can you e-mail me at aabby757@aol.com with the following chapters rush numbers please?

How did Sigma Kappa, Zeta Tau Alpha, Alpha Delta Pi, Delta Gamma, and Alpha Chi Omega Do?

Thank you and I really appreciate it!

Thanks.

IowaHawkeye 02-14-2003 11:19 AM

Hey aabby757 - you never did tell me which of the UMCP sororities you were a proud member of :D

aabby757 02-14-2003 04:20 PM

I am/was a proud member of KD. A million years ago.

shadokat 02-24-2003 04:42 PM

Just wanted to update everyone! My sister was initaited into Delta Delta Delta about two weeks ago :-) She absolutely loves it - she has become good friends with a lot of girls in her pledge class and she's living in the house next year!

I went to www.designergreek.com and designed a tshirt for her and had it sent there... it looks like this:

You're such a great big sister, Nicole! Such a pretty shirt; I wish we'd had all those cool options when I was an active. On second thought, I'd probably STILL be in debt if we had!
