I'm feeling Floetry's "Say Yes". I heard this on the radio and was pleasantly surprised. :)

I'm using this as a Professional Development for my girls. I like the song, too.

AKA2D '91 03-13-2003 11:12 AM

Have you all heard Jay-Z's "I Miss You" (Aaliyah) remix? It's good. It mentions Pac, Biggie, Jam Master Jay. I didn't remember hearing Left Eye, but it was really sad.

Yesterday was my first time hearing it.

I just hear it on the internet. I also like it, and he does mention Left Eye. Other songs that I'm feeling at the moment are both Beyonce and Mary J's "remixes"of 50's "In Da Club". Both women use the same beat. Mary's is better IMHO. Here's a link to her version, which is called Hooked.

Hooked

I CANNOT wait for Mary's new album to drop!!!:D

You starting to feel my man, too, huh? :p I've been telling y'all that he was dropping that knowledge!

Yes, and the thing that I love about this song is that, even more than usual, he enunciates his words so well. A lot of times even when a rapper is saying something very positive, it gets lost in the shuffle if you don't listen hard enough. **think 50-cent's mumbling behind trying to do that song! ;)**

Save your money!!! Do not buy this BULLISHT!!   I hate overabundance of computer beats.

I truly wish that BS would return to the "style" of their first 2 CDs. This isht has like ONE BALLAD!! Teddy Riley is toooooo old to be singing the stuff that he does..

RedefinedDiva 03-16-2003 03:24 PM

Blackstreet makes me nauseous! I think that once people reach a certain age/point in their lives, they shouldn't sing about certain issues (like sex). I don't want to hear Eddie Levert singing about how "Deep" he can go! GROSS!!! Therefore, it's time for Teddy to hang it up. He should stick to trying to get "Teddy's Jam" and some of Guy's greatest hits back on the radio.

librasoul22 03-16-2003 11:08 PM

Why did Teddy Riley do that computerized reverb thing to his voice? That is just aggravating! The song Deep sucks.

I checked out the Mary song...I like it! I can't wait for her album either!

CT4, you BOUGHT Blackstreet? :o

It was $8.99 and I liked the first two BS CDs. I miss my first one. I need to cop it again.

My PSA for today: Friends Don't Let Friends buy BLACKSTREET's new CD. :p

I probably would have done better buying Solange's CD. After all, it was $7.99 @ Target for the past 2 months. :o

Erykah Badu

anybody heard anything about Erykah's new cd? The last I heard, it was entitled "Underground" and was set to be released the 2nd week of March. Haven't seen any promotions for it, so I'm assuming it's been pushed back.

librasoul22 03-19-2003 09:45 PM

Lil' Kim

omg, you guys... Lil' Kim's new CD is OFF THE HOOK. Look no further than her song with Styles. I was all ready to hate but dang...she did it this time.

AKA2D '91 03-19-2003 09:49 PM

Teddy Riley thinks he's the late great Roger Trautman (Zapp)

Nooooootttttttttttt!

I haven't heard Mary's new one.

Are you all feeling Beyonce's version of "In da Club"?
-I'm not!

Not feeling either. I am not a fan of folks who sample a song that is still out. That is just GARBAGE. I mean we know Mary samples/song jacks, but dayyyyyuuuuuuuuuuuuuum at least get a song that is more than 3 months old.

librasoul,

You and I must have similar tastes in music. I was very hesitant to buy it becuase of her last CD but I am feeling this CD. She finally did her thing, although I'm still trying to get over the nose and boob jobs. :o

I had a chance to listen to my co-worker's copy of Lil' Kim's new CD. This album is much better than Notorious K.I.M. The production, everything on the new album is good. I might just have to go and make a purchase myself.

RedefinedDiva 03-23-2003 05:57 PM

The Best Buy insert in today's paper has my girls 702 and my boy Brian McKnight on sale for $8.99 when they are released on Tuesday. The Diplomats (Cam'ron and 'nem) is on sale for $7.99 and it's a double! I don't know their material, but for $7.99, I may buy it. I used to like Cam'ron until he became the Pink Panther. His first CD (Confessions of Fire) is still hot to me.

I may go and get Lil Kim as well since you all say it's good. I don't remember the last time I actually bought a CD. I'll have to start supporting the artists again, but they have to be on sale and I have to love their work. I had gotten tired of spending my money on mediocre work.

I saw that too about the Diplomats CD! ROFL @ the Pink Panther comment cause it's so true. :D

I'm also waiting on Foxy Brown's new CD to drop. I heard her on a mixtape recently and she's improved from Broken Silence, which I thought was her best CD to date.

Foxy is my girl! I didn't really get into Broken Silence, but Chyna Doll was hot. I have to pull out my Broken Silence and give it a listen. I didn't spend as much time listening it as I did with Chyna Doll. "I Can't Rock With You" f/ Total was my cut! If she has gotten better, I really can't wait until it comes out!

New Neo-soul Artists

Hey GC, has anyone heard any of Vivian Green's new songs? If so, what is your favorite song? My fav songs would be "AINT NOTHIN BUT LOVE" and "I'LL ONLY BE GOOD TO U". She held a concert in my hometown and I must say she impressed me with your stage prescence:)

I agree. I'm listening to her CD now. Superwoman and "ain't nothing but love" are my favorites. Ladies you must buy this CD!!
It's like she is telling the men how women feel in her songs.

librasoul22 04-21-2003 01:20 PM

I am NOT feeling LSG's song Just Friends. It has Loon on it, and just sucks in general, IMO.

Monica's new song So Gone gets a so-so thumb right now, it might grow on me.

Still blasting V. Green. Probably will be until A. Keys.

RedefinedDiva 04-21-2003 02:11 PM

Songs of the moment

Currently, I am SOOOO into:

1. Monica: "So Gone"

2. Lil Mo: "Forever"

3. Mr. Cheeks: "Crush on You"

4. 50 Cent: "20 Questions"

5. Fabolous: "Can't Let You Go"

6. Sean Paul: "Get Busy"

I can't remember if someone said this here or in another forum but the quote was something like:

"Vivian Green is the TRUTH"

That is one of the best CD's I own right now.:D

Gina1201 04-21-2003 03:08 PM

I just heard Ashanti's new song "Rock with U". HATED IT!! She says "Awww, baby" and "Oooh, baby" and just plain "baby" too many times! I can see her touching her hair each time she says it. The beat is alright but it sounds like I've heard it somewhere before. ;)

librasoul22 04-23-2003 01:34 PM

Okay y'all. There is a new anthem in the South (as if y'all couldn't hate us more after Khia, lol). It is called Get Low by Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boys. It is um...interesting.

Fellow pirates, dl it, lol. I would describe it but I think you just have to hear it.

Gina, I am dl'ing the new Ashanti to see what it sounds like...
