As I sit here in my drunken stupper, playing with my chopsticks from my sushi dinner. I am reminded of those cool drumsticks they use to make that you could hit them in the air and they still made a noise, I think they were beat sticks or something.

DeltaSigStan 10-10-2002 02:23 AM

Oh yeah, NICKELODEON GAK!!!!!!!!!!!!! That stuff was COOL

bruinaphi 10-10-2002 03:20 AM

I miss Hi-C Wild Berry.

I also really miss those frozen yogurt sqeeze things that came out in the shape of the star. I can't remember what they were called. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

ilovemyglo 10-10-2002 09:28 AM

Furskins- they were dolls, but I loved them.

Popples- again another doll. but they were so freaking cool!

Do they still make GI Joes?

Tinker Bell nail polish. It just peeled off, so you didn't have to worry about getting it all off with nail polish remover, you could sit in class and peel it all at once!

MoxieGrrl 10-10-2002 10:07 AM

How about Snugglebums?? They were these plastic little animals and had furry hair. I remember I got a pink one for my 7th bday held at Rax. :)

sororitygirl2 10-10-2002 12:12 PM

Peel-off nail polish was the greatest! You can still find it in some toy stores or in the toy section at Target. Maybe I will go get some...

shadokat 10-10-2002 02:06 PM

Ok, you can definitely still get Big League Chew and Mambas in PA. I LOVE MAMBAS :) I do miss Citra though...that was good, like Fresca :) I miss chocolate cream twix...with the regular cookies and chocolate instead of caramel. So much makeup gets discontinued, it PISSES me off!!

Those were my favorite!!! I'd seriously play with those for days on end w/o barely getting up! I had ALL the sets! My mom loved it, kept me totally occupied and out of her hair.

Dionysus 10-10-2002 04:08 PM

Blue raspberry chillers from Great American Cookie Co. :(

valkyrie 10-10-2002 09:03 PM

KangaROOS, the shoes with pockets. But apparently they're coming back and I am going to get some.

Also, this is so old school, but for a while in the 70s they made this cereal called "Freakies" and it was very good.

Someone mentioned Little Caesar's -- many of them have closed, but there are still two that I know of around here. I could eat crazy bread & sauce all day long, and their pizza is definitely the best "chain" pizza, IMHO. It's a great hangover remedy.

FAB*SpiceySpice 10-12-2002 10:55 AM

I miss Crystal Pepsi, that stuff was the best

There used to be these like liquid lollipop things that came in like toothpaste tubes, I forgot what they're called, but they were SO good!

I also loved Lifesaver Holes....I don't like regular Lifesavers but I loved the Holes, who knows why

I used to have those Fashion Plate things too, I loved them!!!

 :D :)

I saw those the other day at wal-mart. I forgot what they are called but i remember seeing it because i used to get those when i was younger as well. I was like, "look mom, remember when i was crazy about these!" I would just check wal-mart, I saw them by the cash register.

I also miss little caesars pizza. They recently closed the k-mart by my house- but they had little caesars in there.

SLUadpi 08-11-2003 03:20 PM

Oh my goodness, I grew up on McDonald's old apple pies - mix them up with some vanilla ice cream - yummy!!! I vaguely remember finding a McDonald's that still sold the old apple pies, let me ask my fiance if he still remembers.

Products I miss:

Canada Dry Tahitian Treat - fruit punch soda that was sooooo goood.

Vanilla flavored Cookie Crisp - Who the hayle told those cereal makers to discontinue one of my favorite cereals??? I don't give a rat's behind about the chocolate chip flavor.

Cherry Clan candy
Chicko Sticks
Chocodiles

juniorgrrl 08-11-2003 04:07 PM

I really miss McDonald's old milkshakes. Not that triple thick crap that you can't drink while driving.

trisigmaAtl 08-11-2003 04:12 PM

They still make tahitian treat, there's some in my fridge right now!!! I hate it, but my sis drinks it like crazy.

does anybody remember when Wendy's had all of those different buffets inside the restaurant? they had a pasta bar and a taco bar etc. It was hilarious!

Tinkerbell was my first make-up:)

You can get Shrinky-Dinks again, too, now: http://www.shrinkydinks.com/

One of my sisters got Shrinky-Dinks for Christmas my senior year, and we all sat around for hours one day making them. It was so fun! :)

CatStarESP4 08-11-2003 04:28 PM

I miss The Body Shop's liquid hand soap, olive scrub, the palmshine hair care line, (edited to add Ananya shower gel) and a citrus scented shower gel that they had back in the 1980s. I also miss Bath and Body Work's Gingham perfume, it was a beautiful soft fragrance.

KappaKittyCat 08-11-2003 05:41 PM

Eucalyptus & Spearmint scented aromatherapy lotion from Bath & Body Works.

AOII_LB93 08-11-2003 06:49 PM

Stuff I miss:

*S'mores Crunch cereal, it was like golden grahams with chocolate and mini marshmallows...i used to just pick out the marshmallows and eat those, the cereal part sucked, the marshmallows were the best.

*Jell-o pudding pops(chocolate and butterscotch swirl)....esp the commercials with Bill Cosby.

*Speaking of Bill Cosby, does anyone else remember the show "Picture Pages" where he had this little pen thing that made a noise everytime he drew? That was the coolest pen EVER!

Can I just say wow? Someone else as crazy as me remembers the Monchichi theme song?

The cartoon the Cowboys of Moo Mesa, it was cows, but they rode horses...I don't know how or why, but my mom and I got into that cartoon when I was a pre-teen.

LuaBlanca 08-11-2003 07:09 PM

Fashion Plates were the greatest toy EVER!

Cover Girl used to carry the best blush color... it was just pink enough, it looked very natural and barely sun-kissed... and then one day it WENT AWAY and I was so MAD! Now that "Jane" make-up company makes a color very similar to it (Blushing Petal) but it's NOT the same. Grr.

One time my mom bought this orange flavored juice-type stuff called "Tampico" instead of the usual brand of whatever we drank. It was pretty good, but it was a while ago and I don't even know if they make it anymore. But then again I haven't really looked.

I know they still make them, but I used to love those kool-aid esque drinks in those plastic, single-serve, barrel shaped bottles. They had the foil lids that you either had to pierce or peel off but either way it was difficult. Those were fun.

SparkliiQTMTSU 08-11-2003 07:59 PM

OMG yes the pudding pops need to come back those were so the best ever!

Nichole

OMG was that the name?????? I have been bugging my mom about that for YEARS, she thinks I'm crazy!! She ordered the pen for me and it never came :( to this day I still bug her about it.

Also on Nickelodeon....Sweet Pickles I think was the name...there were all these flashcards that came in a green box, they were on all the time.......

And who can forget Hey Dude???

AXJules 08-11-2003 08:05 PM

Oh yeah, this pear scented shower gel from Limited Too...I bought it in like 7th grade and they stopped making it a few months later, here I am almost 10 years later and I still haven't found anything that smells like it

EtaPhiZTA 08-11-2003 08:19 PM

Marathon candy bars - they were the best!!!!!

Tampico is still around
If you're anywhere in the southwest, you can find it in the grocery stores.

WHO MENTIONED LITE BRITE??? I lived for mine. Looking back I can see now why I'm glued to a computer screen doing graphics now! :D

"Picture pages, picture pages, time to get your pens and your pencils!"

Surprisingly enough, there's an official website for that, too (and a link to play the theme song): http://www.picturepages.com/default.asp

Yes, you're right, those are Popples. Those things are freaky.

I miss Whataburger-all you TX people know about that-but they don't have it up here in NC. I miss taquitos at 2:30 am!! :(

Lite Brites, Garbage Pail Kids, and Pudding pops kicked ass!!

Actually at the last hospital that I did my internship at, my nurse had-AND USED-a flowbie to cut her hair. It didn't look that bad though-but I'd never let one within 100 yards of my head.

DWAlphaGam 08-14-2003 03:17 PM

The Discovery Channel ran the most amusing show about infomercials a few weeks ago. They showed all of the ones already mentioned in this thread: Flowbee, Pocket Fisherman, etc. I'm sure they'll show it again soon, so watch out for it.

You can still get lite brites. I bought one at Wal-Mart about 2 years ago.

My mom would never let me have one as a kid, because she thought I'd eat the pegs, so I bought it for myself. And, yes, I put the pegs in my mouth just to spite her! :D

Then I gave it to Goodwill when I got tired of it. (and yes, i washed the pegs first)

Sister Havana 08-11-2004 02:50 PM

Crystal Pepsi and Pepsi Blue.

Carnation Breakfast Bars (I still get a hankering for these every so often!)

Cranicot (same idea as Cranapple, only with apricot nectar and cranberry juice. I only found this at one store in Indiana so I wonder if it was just a test-market product. But it rocked)

Taco Bell Fiesta Tacos and Fiesta Soft Tacos, the tiny ones that cost something like 50 cents.

I loved Glamour Gals and Dazzle Dolls too, back in the day. They were the perfect size for my dollhouse!

adpiucf 08-11-2004 03:57 PM

Campbell's Fat-Free Baked Ramen Noodles. I lived off them freshman year in college, and I can't find them anywhere anymore.

IowaStatePhiPsi 08-11-2004 04:53 PM

Crystal Pepsi and Orbitz.

CSUSigEp 08-11-2004 05:23 PM

Koosh balls, and push pops.

I remember in the 3rd grade me and my friend were playing with a koosh ball in a classroom after school with the rest of the afterschool bunch and he threw it through the glass window but it was funny cuz it didnt make a sound and only made a mousehole shaped hole. It was the weirdest thing cuz nobody else in the classroom (including the teacher) even noticed anything was wrong!
