You're right. I grew up on reruns of Degrassi Jr. High and Degrassi High, even thoguh I was only 9 when School's Out aired.
So it's not new to me. I think TNG is a good show, but I rarely watch it because the story lines are old to me and I personally prefer the original series.

Per this seasons commericials...

it appears that Jimmy and Hazel will hook up. It's about time!! It seemed like a natural progression. Not because of their race, but because they are always hanging out...Jimmy, Hazel, Spinner, and Paige.

Not feeling Ellie and Sean.

I loved Sean and Emma. He made her less annoying and she made him softer. However, after this initial episode...that's so over.

I agree. I don't like Emma without Sean at all, and I don't like Sean as much without her either.

I have high hopes for Sean and Ellie though -- but I think they may disappoint me. :(

Emma ans Sean were so cute. Now Sean is not so cute now that he's all Slim Shady and everything

Emma and Chris- It will take some getting use to

It may help if Chris takes a few acting lessons.

I'm glad I could help! lol

Yeah, you are not alone. But, I do get clowned all the time for watchin a teen soap opera. It all started by me watching Daria reruns (loved Daria), and accidently got into Degrassi.

They said that their was a case of a teen who "cut" herself after viewing the episode about Ellie
I think it's funny how America attempts to pinpoint exactly where something came from (when the suicide rate goes up, when teens are cutting themselves, etc)

i mean there was an episode on Real World recently where Frankie cut herself......teens watch that but the censors automatically gravitate to shows like Degrassi that aren't filmed here in the States because it's "easier to get rid of"

Is it just me, or is this episode totally The Breakfast Club?

Thank God Chris wasn't in it!

But yeah I thought the same thing. I duno how I feel about Ellie and Sean together. I thought he was iwth that Amy girl? Hopefully everyone finds out that Sean took the computer, even tho I like his story lines.

Where is Craig this season??

They are warming up to it. This is only the 2nd eposide of the season.

I thought Sean was with Amy as well. I want to know where in the heck did she come from? I just "love" how the Degrassi writers seem to pull facts out their butts that have no explaination.

Like remember how during the rave, Chris was with Melinda(sp) and they were fighting? So how come all of the sudden Emma and Chris are a couple? When did Chris and this other girl break up?

ps. Even though Sean is all thugged out now, that is still a fine looking boy. If I were a few years younger........:o :p

i watched the first episode of the new season (it was on before the new one) and Emma's mom says to Emma: "why don't you ask Chris to the party, he broke up with his girlfriend."

i guess they broke up over this "hiatus"

but yeah Sean is with Amy.....i mean c'mon they were making out in class on the first episode

what i also just llllllooooveee about the writers is they'll feature the same characters for like 4 episodes and then they'll disappear for a few weeks while other characters seem to crawl out of the lockers. i mean where has Ashley, Teri, and Marco been?

When I saw the commercial that's the first thing I thought. BITERS!!

They've gone too far. It will never be as good as the original, but I hope it's as good as the Dawson's Creek-BC ep.

tnxbutterfly 06-12-2004 01:30 AM

These first two eposides have been kind of lame. But I'm thinking that the season is going to get better later on.

Ellie and Sean- So what is Ellie going to do now that she knows her new boyfriend is a thief

Jimmy and Hazel- who saw that coming? I sure didn't

I have to admit Chris has the personalility of a cardboard box:o :p I watched the first eposide again and yeah I can see you all's point.

What's up with the N not showing a perview of next week's show? Are they not going to show a new ep next week?

Totally.

Lying across the front we have Hazel. In the middle, from left to right, we have Ellie, Toby, and Jimmy. Crouching in the back we have Sean.

They definitely were going for a Breakfast Club episode. All we needed was a little "Don't You Forget About Me."

LOL. I labeled them all too during the ep! Only difference is the the popular girl and the jock ended up together and the thief and weird girl ended up together.

Oh, and Toby didn't write the letter! But, that would have been too much.

Anybody see tonight's eposide? Rick's crazy for real

And what is up with the N not showing peviews for next week epi? If they show the "Breakfast Club" epi one more time,I'm going to lose it. :D

Dear the N.com:

Please stop showing the Breakfast Club epi. It wasn't that good and there are other people on the show beside Ellie,Sean,Toby,Jimmy, and Hazel. Can we get to see the other people please?

Ok, thanks

Oh, and your letter was funny. LOL

AOIIalum 06-19-2004 08:10 AM

I didn't even watch the entire Breakfast club ep, and I tend to watch Degrassi regularly (to the complete annoyance of my teenaged DS and his friends!) I tell them that I've been watching since PBS started airing the original 'Kids' episodes!

After watching tonight's ep, Rick definitely has issues and needs professional help ASAP.

tnxbutterfly 06-19-2004 06:02 PM

I have a question about last night's episode, but I'll wait till everyone has posted before I ask it

mu_agd 06-19-2004 06:40 PM

so a few years ago the disney channel made one of their incredibly cheesy movies called model behavior with maggie lawson and justin timberlake where maggie lawson plays a model and a regular person who switch places. and i am not ashamed to admit that i love this movie. and just realized the the kid who plays sean was in that movie playing a bratty brother.

also, was reading the boards over on twop and there is some interesting stuff going around on there...

My roomie and I were bored as hell yesterday so we started watching a Lifetime movie about middle schoolers having sex and what their parents do about it (called "She's Too Young" :D ). A few minutes in, we realized that one of the slutty girls was Miriam McDonald . . . yes, Emma from Degrassi. Then we changed the channel and caught a short film in which we made another Degrassi sighting -- Ms. Kwan! Hahaha . . .

There's an episode from this seasons Degrassi that they may or not show in the States. It's an episode surrounding Manny terminating a pregnancy. I would love to see this episode and how Manny and Craig (assuming it's Craig) deal with this.

according to the posters on TWOP, this N will now show this episode, although they are not sure when and if and how it will be edited.

Lady Pi Phi 06-22-2004 04:56 PM

Do they not show the reruns of Degrassi High?
If they do, did they not show the episode where one of the twins has an abortion? (Either Heather or Erica...I can't remember which one).

That should be interesting.

Chronologically it was supposed to air between the two most recent episodes, I think -- the Breakfast Club one and the Terry/Rick one. I could be wrong, but I think that was the order.

i think it was actually supposed to air before the breakfast club episode.

i also think i know way too much about this show.

tnxbutterfly 06-23-2004 12:54 AM

My Question

Isn't Terri's dad suppose to have a disability or something? Doesn't he have a limp or suppose to walk around with a cane?

I could have sworn that during the eposide where Paige got Terri drunk before the dance, Terri's dad walked with a cane or had a limp or something. Yet, during this latest eposide, he wasn't limping or anything.

Does anybody know?

abaici 07-05-2004 02:44 PM

Loved the Rock and Roll High episode. I'm thinking of getting a simliar shirt made. Instead of Craig, I'll have a certain knuckleheads pic.

lyrica9 07-05-2004 08:20 PM

anyone else think ephraim ellis, the "kid" who plays rick, is cute? i say "kid" cause he's 19 like myself.
gotta love the geeky look.

aphibeach 07-06-2004 12:52 AM

i was kind of disappointed with the Rock and Roll High episode.....i mean i thought the drama between Craig and Ashley had been settled....i felt like nothing really interesting happened

The thing I noticed about Degressi/N execs is that they tend to show eposides out of order.

This episode was kind of boring especially the Joey/Catilyn/Angie story. That was so lame. But Ashley's song rocked
