Althought we do not have them on our campus, I would have liked to have been a Tri-Delt. Their colors, the mascot...things that don't *really* matter caught my attention. The more I learned about the sorority, the better I liked them! Plus, the whole SNL skit got me interested in the first place. I thought it was cute. :D

ECUGSS 11-03-2001 05:09 PM

ummm... good question...

I love being in my sorority (GSS National Service Sorority) but if I hadnt decided to join with GSS, I had considered Chi Omega because they had the highest GPA requirement on my campus. I had also considered ZTA and DZ. ( I never went through Social rush though) :)

AOIIAngel 11-03-2001 06:45 PM

Well, at Texas Womans U, there was only AOII and AGD-so I would have been an AGD, but if I had gone to UNT(across from TWU) instead, I would have wanted to be a ZTA or Chi O.

KarenC725 11-07-2001 02:01 PM

If I hadn't gone ZTA at UMCP, then I would have probably gone DG. If I had gone to another school, then Phi Mu as that is what my mom was.

erniegurl00 11-07-2001 02:44 PM

Well I would have gone Alpha Chi if I wasn't a Pi Phi. On my campus they are a great bunch of girls and a lot of my friends are AXs. However, I'd also have to say Tri-Delt. My aunt was a Tri-Delt here many years ago, and sense then have lost their charter. I would have loved to have experienced what she did! :) (But I would never, ever give up my experiences as a Pi Phi! Blue and Wine forever!)

AOPiLaLa 11-07-2001 04:11 PM

I think I already wrote in this one but if I had not been an AOTT, I would have been an AXID, even though they are the ones I dropped first round. When it was all said and done, I was very close to as many AZD's as my sisters and they were an AMAZING group of girls. But I would have also liked to have been an Alpha Phi, because that is what my grandmother was!

pinkangel 11-07-2001 10:15 PM

AOPiangel...

Do you know any of the ZTAs at UNT??

ErikaXO 11-07-2001 10:49 PM

I've been a Chi Omega for so long it is hard to imagine myself anywhere else....but the only other place I can really envision myself is Delta Gamma. I actually didn't even preference them...I had a really hard time choosing between Chi O, DG and Alpha Phi but we were only allowed to pref two. I grew up in a "nautical" family and so the whole little anchor thing always appealed. I even had a gold anchor I used to wear in college, everyone knew I was a Chi O so I didn't care. (I had a sailboat and a ship's wheel too so it was all the same to me.) One of my closest friends was a DG at my school and though I didn't get along very well with some of them I still have to admit I would have fit in there very well.

lilsnakeyk 11-08-2001 02:02 PM

I couldn't imagine not being a lil snakey k! But, I know that if I had to choose another house, it would have definitely been Delta Gamma. My best friend is a DG and I am really close with a lot of her sisters, so that would be the logical place for me if I wasn't a Sig Kap. I might have even gone Alpha Phi or Tri-Delta, because I am a legacy at both of those houses

Greek Love,

Lil Snakey K

ErikaXO 11-08-2001 10:58 PM

I know I said my next choice after XO would be DG, but I also should mention that I feel a bond to Alpha Gam too. My aunt, who is actually more like a sister to me due to our close age difference, was an AGD and she used to try to "groom" me to be one too. I even had the little squirrel mascot. As it turns out, my mother-in-law and my grandmother-in-law are both AGDs too. I guess this means that my daughter is not only a Chi O legacy but an GD leg too!!!!!

kristiAZD 11-12-2001 12:04 AM

WGLO's?

I wasn't aware there were WGLO's. It's 2001; have we not learned anything?:(

alphaxidelta12 11-12-2001 01:05 AM

i go to a small college and the other sorority is a bunch of fakes. i wouldn't have rushed if i didn't have my alpha xi's! :D

aephi77 02-08-2002 01:44 PM

If Aephi wasn't at my school, I guess I would have been in SDT or AZD since I went to their prefs. I probaly would have fit in better with SDT even though Azd is a great chapter also.

FuzzieAlum 02-08-2002 05:29 PM

Well, AChiO was second on my bid card, so that would have been where I went if it wasn't for AXD!

I'd rather drop out of rush than join the local sororities on my campus.

I was just wondering why this is true for you.

Peaches-n-Cream 02-08-2002 06:11 PM

Yeah D Phi E! :D
I liked Alpha Phi.

lifesaver 02-08-2002 08:43 PM

At my initial campus - Sigma Chi (Legacy)
At my transfer campus - Sig Ep.

SigKapSweetie 02-08-2002 10:36 PM

Pi Beta Phi. They were my very close second choice during rush, and I would definately have gone Pi Phi if it weren't for SK. I think my college experience would have been much different, though; my chapter and Pi Phi are very dissimilar. (I was choosing between extremes during prefs) I can still remember the song they sang at prefs...it was so pretty!

HeavenslilAngel 02-09-2002 01:22 AM

I would be a GDI like I was before I joined my local. I just didn't feel that the other chapters were right for me.

Sweetums 02-09-2002 02:06 AM

I'd say Gamma Phi Beta, they're really involved in all aspects of campus life and great girls! We don't have Chi-O at UBC, but it sounds like a really great organization, if I was going to university in the South I think I'd definately go Chi-O!

KappaStargirl 02-09-2002 06:12 PM

no fair asking this of the person who went to the school with only 3 sororities...

but Theta was the other group I preffed, so I would have gone there. It's funny, I've changed a lot since college, as we all have (those of us who are out of college, anyway), and I think that if I rushed today at the same college with the same groups, I'd go Theta. That doesn't change the fact that I adore Kappa and truly believe that it is one of the best, if not THE best sorority, of which to be an alumna member. I'm just a different person and would have joined the group into which I fit.

My fiance, a recent graduate of Pitt, said that if I had rushed there I most likely would have gone Chi O or...Kappa! too funny. I guess I was just born to be a KKG.

PiPhiERDoc 02-09-2002 07:56 PM

On my campus...Gamma Phi Beta
Otherwise...I think TriDelta, Kappa, and Theta are all really strong nationally, and they have great chapters at Univ. of Washington (probably where I would have gone otherwise)

There AREN'T WGLO'S anymore. Historically, the NPC sororities have been all-white, but that has changed in the past years. My Kappa chapter had Asian, African-American, and Jewish members, all of whom were great sisters. There's even a rumor on my undergrad campus that the FiJi chapter left because they wanted to initiate a homosexual member and an Afro-American member and their nationals disapproved (this was MANY years ago).

We have learned quite a bit in this year 2002.

SHSUChiO 02-10-2002 05:05 PM

I'd go Chi O all over again, but if Chi O wasn't on my campus when I rushed, I would have gone ADPi, who I preffed second. I would have like to see what KKG, Pi Phi and Theta had to offer.

How things change in just a few months!!! I just looked at this and while I still really like Phi Sigs and AST and Phi Sigma Sigma, I think that I would have to say in getting to know the SDT's on my campus, I think I would really be happy with them. The other ones are great, but, I mean I hang out at the SDT house just like if they were my own sisters!

deltaphi94 02-11-2002 11:21 PM

Had it not been for the women in my chapter when I went through rush, I would not have joined a GLO. Not that I have anything against any of the groups from my school, but the others just weren't for me.

ADPiSweety 02-12-2002 02:56 PM

If ADPi weren't at UNLV I would have chosen Sigma Kappa. I'm a legacy to Sigma Kappa and they were my second choice anyways, so yea, I would go to Sigma Kappa if ADPi weren't here.

TriSigmaTX 02-12-2002 03:47 PM

I would always pledge Tri Sigma over and over again. I absolutely loved Chi Omega on my campus (Emporia State), but at pref they did this weird thing with drawing your foot, I hated that and just couldn't do it...
I felt more comfy at Tri Sigma and am a National Officer today! But the Chi Omega's there were great and some of my best friends came from there :)

Knowledge1922 02-12-2002 04:05 PM

Sigma Gamma Rho...the only way to Go

There were only 3 choices for me:

Undergrad

Grad

or Honorary!!!!!

:D

AOII_Luv 02-12-2002 06:18 PM

If I hadn't gone with AOII, I think I would have liked being a Zeta. They seem like such awesome girls. After Zeta, I would pick Alpha Phi.

AOII_Luv

RxyChrldr 02-12-2002 07:44 PM

If I hadn't gone DG, I think the next-best fit for me would be Gamma Phi Beta...

Thetagurl 02-12-2002 08:51 PM

On my campus i would pick alpha gam (they are so much like my chapter) we literally fight over the same girls during rush. Otherwise nationally I'd be a pi phi or tri delt

lilkel244 04-12-2003 02:37 AM

This is a hard decsion, I think if I weren't a DZ, on my campus I would have gone DG, I know alot of really awesome girls in DG, and they seem very similar, the presidents of the two are best friends. Off campus I think it would be Tri-Delt, I grew up with a girl who was a Tri-Delt at syracuse, and she is actully why I went through recruitment. If I were a boy I would go Sigma Nu all the way

OUKate 04-12-2003 03:22 AM

On my campus: DG or Alpha Chi
Anywhere: Phi Sig or DZ

MSSTCY1 04-12-2003 04:09 AM

I was going phi sigma sigma until I met one of my pledge sisters right before rush and I went with her instead.

pinkyphimu 04-12-2003 11:31 AM

on my campus....GDI
elsewhere....AOPi, AST, DG

Nikki_DZ 04-12-2003 11:49 AM

On my campus: Alpha Phi, without a doubt.

At a different school: Theta (I love the Ohio State chapter) or KD.

But, of my other top two choices for undergrad, one doesn't have Greek life (Xavier), and at the other, I probably still would have picked DZ (Indiana)! Guess it's meant to be :)

Sahara 04-12-2003 12:48 PM

AKA all the way!!

I wouldn't have joined any organization. My reasons for wanting to be an AKA are the same for me not wanting to be anything else. I would have either waited until after I graduated and initiated through the grad process, or I would have contacted the powers that be and found out how to initiate while still an undergrad (there are ways).

kappaloo 04-12-2003 01:01 PM

If there wasn't Kappa on campus - well, we're the only sorority on campus so I guess I wouldn't have joined a sorority at all.

However, if Kappa didn't exist at all, then my sorority would probably be Phi Sigma Sigma, since they were the local's second choice. (My Kappa chapter started from a local 10 years ago).

But given the choice of all the GLOs I've seen, I would have joined Tri-Delta if Kappa wasn't an option. I absolutely love their history.

DZHBrown 04-12-2003 04:55 PM

Probably Kappa Delta because the rest of the groups seemed really...well...stereotypical.
