A D Pi
So proud of my daughter. She went through this without any recs. I think she found the best house for her based on what I have heard.
|
I almost asked which chapter, then I saw the title :o
Congrats to your daughter on Alpha Delta Pi! |
AXO
Thanks to everyone on this board for your support!

Another Very Happy Ending...
An Illini SDT for very special girl that wanted them from day one...though she did keep an open mind and attended 3 preference parties and ranked all 3. |
Congrats! My daughter is in SDT and loves it. They got 54 new girls! Yay!!
|
UNOFFICIAL numbers (based PURELY on counts in pictures):
Alpha Gamma Delta 55 Kappa Kappa Gamma 56 Delta Zeta 56 Pi Beta Phi 55 Sigma Kappa 32 Alpha Phi 58 Alpha Chi Omega 56 *THESE ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO BE RIGHT DUE TO INCORRECT COUNTING AND ANY SISTERS WHO ARE MISSING IN THE PICTURE* |

I want to know this too!!! |
Just put 8 pics chapter pics up on the Bid Day Pics thread!
|
Kappa kappa gamma has 57 new members.
|
^^ Thanks for the update! I know my picture counting method is unreliable lol
|
According to the U of I Fraternities & Sororities page, there are 1000 new members...not sure if they just rounded that off nicely or if thats an actual number, lol That puts U of I at a 73% retention rate (which includes women who dropped out). Pretty on par with past years.
|
So I just returned home from Bid Day activities, and I am proud to say that I am now a member of...
...Sigma Kappa!!!!!! :) :) It was a wonderful day! |

Congrats Greenteagirl! I know there's at least two U of I Sigma Kappas around here, although one is a recent grad and I don't think visits too often. :(

I won't say what sorority my daughter is in at Illinois, but she was assigned a temporary little sister once they got their bid list.....a sweet, adorable girl my daughter really enjoyed rushing who was clearly thrilled to get her bid. I assume they met quota because they have 57 girls. About half way through the bid day activities, she told my daughter she was very sad to say that she was not really going to accept her bid as her parents had made it clear to her before pref parties they could not afford the expense of a sorority. My daughter was stunned and the pledge clearly upset she can't continue. My daughter feels terrible for this girl, but very upset that this pledge took the spot of a girl who really wanted to be in her sorority. I know Panhellenic and every sorority make the financial commitment very clear at the get go, but I know this still happens and it's a lose-lose for everyone involved. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it somehow works our for all parties involved.

Anyone have news on Phi Sig? I couldn't find that much info on the website without registering as an interested PNM. |
I think their Facebook will probably have the best info for the public: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Phi-S...01482726558953
As a recent colony member at Illinois, I wish them well! If the number on the Panhellenic Facebook page was right, 1000 PNMs received bids leaving about 360. I know that not all 360 will be interested in colony recruitment, and of course, there will be many others Phi Sig PNMs who didn't go through at all...but based on that number, I think that a new colony will be very beneficial to the school! |
A few more *unofficial* numbers from picture counts:
Kappa Alpha Theta 57 Gamma Phi Beta 54 Delta Delta Delta 54 Chi Omega is 56 per their Twitter Pi Beta Phi is actually 57--not 55 that I counted |
Did a little facebook snooping, and I'm pretty sure that my rec girl went Delta Zeta!
|
Gamma Phi Beta 57
Delta Delta Delta 58 |
What happened to the Phi Sig house on Greek Park? Do they still own it? Anyone know what their housing plans are?

Welcome to Sigma Kappa, Greenteagirl! You'll love it!
|
Congratulations to all the wonderful chapters at Illinois and to all their new members! Just from a casual look around FB and talking to friends, I've seen young women I know as new members of SDT, Tri Delt, AEPhi and - hooray - DG too! :) I'm sure there are more I just haven't heard about yet.
Congratulations to all the PNMs (and their nervous moms) here on GC on finding their new homes! Best wishes. |
