I love that we have 56 recognized Greek Organizations on campus here in Austin! (There are more that are on probation/suspended that will be coming back over the next 2 semesters) Besides the 14 NPC (AXO, ADPi, AEPhi, APhi, AXiD, XO, DDD, DG, KAT, KD, KKG, PBP, SDT, ZTA)chapters and 21 IFC chapters (ACACIA, AEPi, ATO, Beta, Chi Phi, DX, Delta Sig, DTD, KSig, LXA, Phi Delt, FIJI, Phi Kap, Pike, SAE, Sammy, Sig Ep, Sigma Pi, TKE, Theta Chi, ZBT), we have:
-7 well established NPHC groups: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Zeta Phi Beta Sorority -3 groups part of the Texas Asian Pan-Hellenic Council: alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority Sigma Phi Omega Sorority -5 groups a part of the United Greek Council: Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Omega Delta Phi Fraternity Sigma Delta Lambda Sorority Sigma Lambda Beta Fraternity Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority -And 6 other groups that are listed as Affiliate groups (some are waiting to petition the council they would like to be a part of) Beta Chi Theta Fraternity Beta Kappa Gamma Fraternity Delta Kappa Delta Sorority Lambda Theta Phi Fraternity Theta Nu Xi Sorority Zeta Sigma Chi Sorority I just think it's really cool! http://deanofstudents.utexas.edu/gle/ |
Does anyone know of any small, non-cultural/ethnic, social fraternities out there that aren't NIC members? I know of one: Kappa Delta Phi. Any others?

No we don't. I think it's more of a hinderance than a help. That show left a bad taste in many peoples' mouths; both outside and inside the sorority. And it's actually been long enough now that most freshman were in the 6th grade when it aired, so no one's really seen it. Yeah, that makes me feel old...:)

I've heard from older UCD member that after the show was over, half the house quit becuase they were so upset over it. But I'm glad they pulled it off. And however it may have been for the girls at the time, I'm grateful that the experience happend because without it, Sigma would not have gained the exposure that pushed it from a local to a national. In fact, just TODAY I got a letter requesting expansion from a group of girls at the University of Missouri. So, we are definatly moving forward!
