please do, this is my all time favorite movie. randy watson singing the "gray-test luv of all.." is by far the funniest thing i've ever seen.

i've never seen:

terminator
those old bill cosby/sidney portier movies
car wash
cooley high

I FINALLY SAW SCARFACE!

My "distraction" felt it was a crime that I have never seen his favorite movie (what's up with black men and Scarface anyway)!

So, I saw it. It was good...but not as great as The Godfather. I think it was built up too much. It was anti-climatic.

Oh, I've never seen the Matrix movies either. I just have no desire to see them.

zetafg 11-06-2003 01:10 PM

There are a lot of movies I haven't seen:

She's Gotta Have It
Malcolm X
Jungle Fever
Scarface
Godfather
All the Rocky movies
Nightmare on Elm Street II - infinity
Friday the 13th II - infinity
Cooley High
A lot of the 70's and some 80's movies
Titanic
Gone With The Wind
Cassablanca
9 1/2 Weeks

I'm sure there's more but these are the ones off the top of my head.

Gotta Love My Favorite movies ( in the right order)

1. Last Dragon (Whose the Master? I AM.....)
2. Krush Groove (Krush Groooviinnn, body movinnnn)
3. Annie (Leapin Lizardsss!!!)
4. Grease (Look at me I'm Sandra Dee....)
5. Coming to America (I denounce my throne....I'm no longer the Prince of Zamunda!)
6. Trading Places (It was the dukes...It was the dukes)

There's more, but I'll stop for now!

:D

I just crossed off Deliver Us From Eva. I enjoyed the movie. The ending almost made me cry, and I usually don't feel emotional while watching movies.

You should watch the deleted scenes also. I have a solo. Too bad they cut it out.:( They did not want to pay us. I'm the light skinned one with the HUGE ponytail (don’t laugh it was a couple of days after my high school prom) if you get a change to watch it.:p

Oh and your signature is cute! Happy Holidays!

I actually did watch it earlier this year. I'll be sure to check it out again in the future but I have the VHS version so no deleted scenes for me. ;)

I just saw Scarface for the first time this week. I agree it was good but it just wasn't what I expected!! I did recognize a lot of the lines though.

mulattogyrl 12-25-2003 11:17 PM

The Godfather is a classic, you guys should see it! I never saw The Five Heartbeats and Sparkle. There's a whole bunch of other ones I haven't seen but I can't even think of right now:rolleyes:

abaici 12-26-2003 01:05 AM

I saw the Matrix movies over Thanksgiving. My family looked at me like I was an alien, so I finally gave in. I actually enjoyed them. Not really into that genre, but good deal.

The first Matrix movie was groundbreaking. The last two were poopy. Much rather be watching LOTR- that movie actually made up for my PROFOUND dissapointment in The Matrix!

nikki1920 12-26-2003 11:55 AM

Mohogany
5 Heartbeats
Love Jones

CrimsonTide4 12-26-2003 12:44 PM

You can get BREAKIN the DVD at Circuit City for $6.99. That was almost the DVD I got for my brother but his birthday is in 20+ days so who knows. :D

WHAT IN DA BLOOOOOOOOOOODY HELL is wrong with you people?!!?!? I already gave 1SD my VHS of The Five Heartbeats.
1SD, you might have to pass it along to the rest of these folks. I mean Gina I know you were a young one when it came out, but Tony was a GAM when it came out.

Thank you, Gina. Shake these fools, off. When will they learn that there is more than one way to prove ya blackness?

for instance .... like when you can only go "down south" for summer vacation errry dang year!!! All the other kids had great summer stories to tell of trips to Disney World, Chicago, and D.C. ....but naw, I went to Alabama like 412 times, and had to kiss that great aunt who would come up to the car for a kiss before she put her teeth in. Dang, I hated that! ...ok, later she put her foot in some peach cobbler to make thangs right but dang ;)

I've never seen Lord of the Rings either.

The Wayans Brothers' Don't be a Menace is better than Menace II Society.

Also, warning...Do not see Mr. Holland's Opus...It made me stay in education two extra years. That movie is evil!

You, my friend, have been deprived. You have not had a true cinematic experience until you've heard Tony Montana, dazed and battered, utter the classic line, leaning over the balcony, gatts in both hands.... "Sah helllor to my lillle friends!!" Then gatts just be firing for like 20 seconds.

*whew, I gotta go sit down now *

Don't feel bad Delph998, viewing Scarface is more of a male rights of passage sort of thing. If you were a brother and you had not seen Scarface, then you definately would be justified in feeling dunt-a-dunt!!!! right about now.;)

Iota-girl4life 06-01-2004 11:15 PM

I have never seen

Carwash
Sparkle
I know these are not a movies but (THE SOPRANOS) or (Sex In The City) I don't have cable:(

Well, I saw it (I think I posted in this thread after I saw it). I'm still mad at the Black man who literally FORCED me to watch this movie. I just didn't get it. I don't get the fascination. This from a woman who's favorite movie is The Godfather (well, the Trilogy~cannot separate them, even #3 has a purpose).

Again, I kept falling asleep on it. I thought it was boring.

Well I guess I don't feel too bad about it then...even though Tony has put in the corner because of it.

Neosoulchild 06-02-2004 03:33 PM

I've never seen:

Scarface
Shrek
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Amistad
Do the Right Thing
The Ladies Sing the Blues
Mo' Better Blues
New Jack City
Roots

Miss. Mocha 06-02-2004 04:25 PM

I've never seen

Scarface
Titanic
A Man Apart
Rocky I or II
Amistad
Rosewood
Shrek
Finding Nemo
Casino
Ocean's Eleven
Bad Boys II
Pelican Brief

Conskeeted7 06-02-2004 08:28 PM

I've never seen all of Scarface...my brother used to watch it like every week. So, I'd walk in and see a minute or two. But I've never seen the entire movie from beginning to end.

I've also never seen The Color Purple all the way through.

Others...
Beloved
Car Wash
Grease
The Godfather (any of them)

abaici 06-02-2004 08:30 PM

OK...Mocha and Neo get to a video store pronto. Finding Nemo and Shrek are must-see DVD's!!

Now, please do us all a favor and skip A Man Apart. As strapping as Vin Diesel is, I did not buy him as a former gang banger...naw bruh!

Amistad~I didn't like it...there were some good parts (the Middle Passage scene was pretty accurate, but Sankofa is better). However, some parts were just too much (ie. Give us free)

ETA: Soror Conskeeted...GO RENT THE GODFATHER this weekend!

Godfather 1 2 or 3
Scarface (Do I have to turn in my pass to the Men's Club?)
The Last Dragon
When Harry Met Sally
Casablanca
Sparkle
Terms of Endearment
Steel Magnolias
Jungle Fever
The Temptations
Barbershop
The Five Heartbeats

abaici 06-02-2004 09:56 PM

I think I watch TOO many movies (I love having movie night). At least, most of the ones listed. But, after reviewing the AFI top 100 movies, I have a few to add.

I've never seen:

Casablanca (Sad, it was rated #2 by AFI. But, it's on my coffee table as we speak...watching it tonight)

Citizen Kane (ranked #1 by AFI. attempted once, but didn't make it)

Schindler's List

It's a Wonderful Life (I am just stubborn; it comes on a billion times during the holidays)

All about Eve (love old movies, but whenever it comes on, I'm distracted)

Raging Bull

Annie Hall

Doctor Zhivago

The Philadephia Story
