Hopefully just as awesome as the Saints/49ers game... complete with a niners victory.

I'd be more confident about us getting into the playoff if we were playing our last games on the road against the elite teams.

Yeah, yeah. ^^ I have to admit though, I was DAMN HAPPY the Giants BEAT the Forty Winers! *insert evil laugh here*

Congratulations to the New York Giants and the New England Patriots! Have fun!

I need this game to start NOOOOOW!

Go Pats! :D

cheerfulgreek 01-25-2012 12:46 PM

I'd like to see the Patriots win, but I have a feeling the Giants are going to pull it off. I dunno, I just see them as kind of the underdog, here. A lot of times the underdog ends up pulling it off.

I don't know, I don't think so. I think New England is going to take it. I think it's going to be a blow out, if you ask me.

ASTalumna06 01-25-2012 04:34 PM

I definitely don't think it will be a blowout. If anything, I think it will be very similar to last week's championship games.. a nailbiter that comes down to the last play of the game. It will probably mirror the 2008 Super Bowl and the previous matchup of these two teams earlier this year (but hopefully with a different outcome!).

Also, I'm not sure why everyone is saying the Giants are the underdogs. I think Vegas is the only one thinking the Pats will win (and not by much). Everyone else I've talked to who isn't a Pats fan says that the Giants are going to crush them. Granted, I live in Giants territory, but that's all I've heard on tv, and it's all I've read about online, as well. No one seems to think the Pats offense can compete with the Giants defense.

New York Giants BABY!!!!!!!

aj12291 02-06-2012 08:53 PM

The patriots didn't even show up last night. Wes Welker missing that catch was almost as bad as the ball going through Buckner's legs.

...that game was just painful to watch.

I don't know much about football but the Patriots missed the ball A LOT. When more passes are incomplete than complete, there's a problem Especially if it's enough for even me to notice.

I wouldnt say they didn't show up at all... Hell, they almost won! Not showing up would be what the Broncos did a few weeks ago against the Pats. I will agree that the Giants played better overall, though. Good game, even though I hated seeing my Pats lose!

It wasn't a "cocky touchdown".. It was him messing up.. Big time. He tried to stay out of the end zone, but he accidentally fell into it after realizing at the last second that he might be costing the Giants the game. With only about a minute left, they were better off getting the first down, running the clock down to next to nothing, then kicking a field goal to win by 1. Instead, by getting the touchdown, he left Brady and the Pats enough time to try and come back and win it.

Actually it wasn't supposed to be cocky at all. He fell in the endzone cause he couldn't stop himself. The Giants wanted to eat up the clock so the Pats couldn't come back. Not that the three dropped passes on the last drive didn't help.

That's so lame. He won the Superbowl by accidentally falling into the end zone? This story was so much cooler when that was just a badass touchdown. This is why I don't watch this sport. Not even the awesome stuff is as good as it seems!

I mean, they did want the touchdown, just with as little time as possible left on the clock.

christiangirl 02-07-2012 04:22 AM

I know, it was just so much cooler when I thought it was on purpose.

I just felt like they never fully had their heads in the game, from that safety on. They did remarkably well to try and come back, but it just IMO was the team's worst performance of the season (and as someone who's watched this team since I was born, this was one of the hardest games for me to sit through ever...).

To try and come back? They were ahead through most of the game.

I wouldn't even say it was the worst performance of the season. Far from it. And the hardest games for me to sit through were the first Pats/Giants Super Bowl (which was nearly identical to this game, except the Pats were 18-0 going in), and the AFC Championship game in 2007 where the Pats lost an 18-point lead after the half to the Colts.

aj12291 02-08-2012 09:30 PM

I was super tired when I wrote that... I totally didnt mean "try and come back..." :(

Yeah, we were ahead for a good chunk of the game, but I felt like we kept making mistakes and never really had a grip on the lead when we did have it. The giants outplayed us, for sure. I do think it was one of our worst games this season, there were so many mistakes, and to start the game off with a safety??!!

I guess I was so heartbroken after this one because I wanted this team to get some redemption for the '08 loss, which I completely agree was in the top three for worst games ever, but that didn't happen, and we lost to them yet again. If we hadn't played the giants, I wouldn't be so heartbroken from that game.

I didn't want them to win for redemption as much as i wanted them to win for Kraft. It would have been the feel-good story of the year. They wanted to win one for Mama so badly. The thing that nearly brings me to tears is Kraft saying, "You watch Vince Wilfork. He used to kiss me coming off the field, then kiss my wife. Now he kisses me twice."

That's what's the most heartbreaking thing for me.

Kraft is the reason this entire football season even occurred.. And he pulled this off all while Myra was sick. It would have been nice to see him handed that trophy on Sunday.

aj12291 02-09-2012 12:41 PM

Oh I think that would have been wonderful as well, the '08 game and redemption was more why I felt so heartbroken (and felt like it was so hard to see the loss), but I definitely wanted to see them win it for both Myra and Robert... I loved that they kept the MHK patch on for the big game and moved the Super Bowl patch to the other side. I completely agree with your statement about Kraft being the reason this season happened. It's so true.
