Congratulations to your team AOII Angel - they played a great game from what I heard (as I've mentioned - I can't ever bring myself to watch which was probably for the best tonight).

You guys had some great moments as did we. We both had spectacularly bad moments. LSU was just able to capitalize on the mistakes more so than Oregon. Our center literally snapped the ball once while our QB was to the right audibling (is that a word) to the line. WTH? Crazy game.

AXOmom 09-04-2011 02:23 AM

Well, for what its worth - I hope LSU runs the table the rest of the season. It will certainly make us feel better about the game.

We'll certainly try! :D

christiangirl 09-04-2011 03:13 AM

Bah. We fought the good fight but we'll get 'em next time. I was super excited to see my cousin on TV! Honestly, I don't give a flying wombat about football when he's not on. You did your best boys, I'll tune in next time!

But it'll be more fun when it's hockey season I'm watching. :o

AOIIalum 09-04-2011 09:48 AM

My husband and youngest son were at The Big House. Thank heavens they took a change of clothes with them, because this morning the clothes they wore were still soaking wet. Son said it was the greatest game he's ever been to, and was rather bummed that they called it early. Kids, go figure!

As for my team...crap, crap, crap. Obviously my "Don't watch the game or even check the score and they'll win" strategy isn't working.

Wondering if there's some pre-game ritual sacrfice I can try next week.

Yeah, that's painful. Especially since the guy was out at the beginning of the game with a stomach virus. He finally managed to talk his way onto the field only to fracture/break his clavicle after three plays. Ouch. Lobbestal looked good as did Halliday. Even the fourth stringer came in for awhile, but I don't know what his name is. I have hope that maybe we will have Tuel back by conference play (I've heard everything from 3 weeks to the season, so we'll see if he does get to come back at somepoint).

The rest of the Pac-12 didn't have as easy a time for us. Rough week, but we'll be fine.

AXOmom 09-04-2011 11:47 AM

It was a rough day for us certainly. I know Stanford did fine and USC won though. I'm assuming UW won, but I didn't check their scores. I know UCLA went down, but I had trouble feeling bad about that one since I CAN"T STAND Rick N.

Unfortunately its usually an 8 week recovery period at best - at least that's what they're reporting (of course - sometimes they push themselves when they need to). I'd be uncomfortable with the Lobster since he wasn't strong the first time around BUT I know a little bit about Halliday since he's a Spokane kid, and he might do well. He was certainly good for Ferris. At least Tuel will be back for the Apple Cup (and a few games before hopefully).

I'm just really shocked Wulff let him talk his way into it - or let him continue to play when they were up - especially considering it was Idaho State.

What in the name that is all and Holy going on with Maryland's helmets and jerseys? Yikes!

Yeah, those crazy kids at Under Armour came up with 4 jerseys (white, black, red, yellow), 4 pants (white, black, red, yellow) and 2 helmets for UMD. They can be worn in any of THIRTY TWO combinations. Crazy. Then there are the wild cleats... Washington Post said that team captains and fan votes will decide which combination is worn on each game day.

AXOmom 09-05-2011 10:33 PM

Well I'd sympathize with Maryland fans BUT as of 2006 we (Oregon) had 384 different uniform combinations (that included sock and shoe possibilities - without the socks and shoes I think it was at 90 different uniform possibilities). We've toned it down now a bit but I think we are still over 200 (with the socks and shoe combos). I can barely remember what our colors are half the time....Even stranger - I think our golfing coach picks the combos they'll wear each week along with the FB captains. Such is the new world of college football. As I mentioned on another thread - glad I'm not a traditionalist or I be completely discombobulated with the whole thing.

That's on the MD state flag! They have that checkered pattern everywhere in MD. I like it...I guess because I know what it stands for.

Not going to lie, I saw the second half of this game and they really pulled it out. Michigan, my hat is off to you, thank you for making the Big 10 a stronger conference. :)

k_s vs. CG why don't yall just go steel cage. Best two of three. k_s, watch yourself though, she's trained in the martial arts and fairly letal with her feet.

Toledo 22, OSU 27... sigh) it's gon be a long year for my Buckeyes ....

Notre Dame vs. Michigan ...can't think of two teams I dislike more, but I will grudgingly admit that Saturday night's game was what's up.

hilarious!

I just can't wait to see knight_shadow's new siggy after State kicks Michigan's butt like they did last year.:)

IrishLake 09-12-2011 02:24 PM

Sigh.... I'm sunburned from being at the OSU game on Saturday, which I thought for sure the Bucks would give away.

Effing Irish. Gave me a damn heart attack. As soon as they scored their last TD, and after I got done cheering, I turned to hubby and said "They could still blow it, they usually do."

Sure 'nuff.

Rees is a better QB in the pocket than Crist, but DAMN he is GREEN! He looks terrified back there and with so many effing red zone turnovers, they will never win. I'm hoping in 2 years he'll be a true force.

I didn't realize this was Michigan's first night game at the Big House, pretty cool.

PincGator Que 09-12-2011 02:59 PM

I'm looking forward to the Circle City Classic this year. Albany State and KSU. I go every year.

CougADPi 09-12-2011 03:01 PM

Another week, another (almost) 60 point game. I could get used to this (but I won't....they are the Cougs after all)

WSU 59- UNLV 7

Michigan didn't win that game, Notre Dame lost it. I know the way I worded that sounds weird, but I'm sure someone knows what I mean.

All this rain today must be the tears of Buckeye fans all over Ohio. Ohio State out of the top 25 for the first time in SEVEN YEARS.

PeppyGPhiB 09-21-2011 03:04 AM

Tonight the Pac12 announced that it will NOT be expanding to include Texas, Okahoma, Texas Tech or anyone else for now.

pearlbubbles 09-21-2011 03:09 AM

^Good!
