Ha! Sorry about that. ;)

I should add that at no time did any high school girl - legacy or not - attend the Founders' Day formal. My sister was not allowed to attend until after she joined the chapter.

I just don't think being a legacy is important if it isn't your legacy chapter. Michigan State is not gonna like her more for being a legacy. She is just another girl like the rest. I think being a legacy matters when it is a place that you can build a connection on it. A place that you can make friends that had family that was sisters with your family members. In my opinion going to Michigan State as a legacy means nothing because she can't point to a composite of someone that the chapter has met. With the rec letters I just would rather reassure myself with women that went to that chapter than someone from another chapter. That chapter woman has similar interest as me and best can describe why I fit that chapter not someone who lives in Alaska. If you are from Hawaii and wear grass skirts going to Michigan State where they were parkas and hunt bear you aren't gonna be like them even if you are a legacy.

You are so beyond being an idiot. Your opinions do not matter. Either you're an incoming freshmen who thinks she knows it all or a liar and fake. Either way you can stomp your feet and scream but it won't change the fact that you're wrong.

Go run and tell mommy or something. The grownups had this handled before you showed.

What you think and what is true are two very different things. Try not to give out advice until you actually know something about membership recruitment...and that would mean you are actually a member.

Oh so you're from the south. So why are you talking about Michigan again? Because you're ignorant? That's what I thought.

Yes
Um...I'm from a southern chapter, and I can assure you that alumnae do NOT routinely attend formal events with their children. Advisors/chaperones may attend, but unless it's a specific event FOR alumnae, you won't see alumnae crashing a chapter's formal. We did have Rose Ball and our parents attended so that our fathers could present us as new initiates, but that is completely different.

Holy shit this is a trainwreck.

Since I AM in a chapter at an SEC school let me go on the record and say that IT IS NOT NORMAL to have anyone except for members and their dates as formal guests. Period.

Also, your mom sounds like a may-jah helimom. Don't be shocked when all of your hopes and dreams are crushed. I hope to god this isn't my sorority.

You still haven't said where and what sorority. I think you are making stuff up. Stop posting about how you will be a member of said sorority until you actually get a bid. You made comments which lead me to believe you are living in the South. We've determined you are not talking about Theta (thanks to Irishlakes) and I'm hoping you aren't talking about Phi Mu. I would hate to have such a self-absorbed "princess" think about joining my sorority.

So far, a Theta, Phi Mu (me) and another NPC-member have made a comment hoping that she is not looking at our sororities. This makes me laugh because I'm pretty sure MANY of the NPC women on here are thinking the same thing from reading her posts.

SEXIST. MY alumna female sorority women are way better than your male men. My Mom's not just at my formals she helps me type all my posts. She's gonna cut you.

The first formal presentation is very important and it is expected your family to be there, you aren't a girl so don't try to tell me what is stupid becaues you don't share the importance of these moments. I know for mixers that they do rent buses and go to a hotel for drinking but formals are special occcasions that are shared with all sisters.

LOL at there being NO drinking at Southern chapter formals.

Now I KNOW you're telling ducktales.

I wonder if Mom's been taking her to purity balls and lying about it being a sorority. That would explain SO MUCH.

I'm gonna guess that "self-absorbed" here means "doesn't like me"

Because you're self absorbed? Well we knew THAT. But libeling a whole sorority to make your stuck-up point was unnecessary.

We're all on the list. It's just a shame that she can't be honest about her guaranteed bid so we could all get schooled.

Maybe it's a local and they just DO things differently.

Which is why you were being laughed at for your redundant use of "alumna women." It really is a shame you didn't spend as much time learning to write as you did preparing for your for-sure membership in the family chapter.

Oh, fille, silly girl, Daddy takes you to those purity balls, and you dance close and have a nice incest type date. You end up in the society pages looking like you went to prom with your own dad and promise never to have sex before you get married or until the first hot guy buys you a box of Junior Mints at the movies!;)

IrishLake 05-28-2010 06:31 PM

IrishLake, I can't begin to guess where she went but it would have involved an AWESOME flounce.
