I thought Britney Spears looked good in her outfit last night. My friend said she had breast implants and butt pads on, though. Justin Timberlake is too cute...he's not letting anyone forget that Britney is his girl *the standing ovation he gave her* You're right, she can't sing...her background singers can...which sucks and makes us wonder why she's the one with the big record deal...this MTV generation doesn't know what good music is. However, she sounded a helluva lot better on the AMAs than she did on MJ's concert *"the way you make me feeeel!" (nauseated)*
Oh yeah, I missed the Backstreet Boyz part, who was this new artist? Was she good and how was DC looking at her? Were they guzzling down some haterade, by any chance?

She said that she named the album because she recorded seven songs. Then she "found GOD"... then with this new found focus she recorded seven more.

GURL, I don't know who she was, but she was putting it down. Firstly, she had this tight PIXIE shag going on! I was like dang, I should grow my hair out like that. It was definitely off the chain. Then the Backstreet Boys said that they would like to introduce their first artist under their record label. Then she burst out into this gospel song "There's a Sweet, Sweet Spirit" and put it DOWN! I wasn't ready for that...this girl wasn't a sista either...she was putting it DOWN!!! Then the camera went to DC and Beyonce had a nice little smile on her face. Michelle was lookin' at her like she was crazy, and Kelly...she was straight HATIN'! But my girl put it down! Can we all say HATAS?!

The girl is Krystal Harris... I didn't think DC looked like they were hating, but they did look taken aback. I'm not gonna talk about them, cause I was too. That girl SANG that song.

She reminds me of that gospel singer, I forgot her name that sings on "You Can Lean on Me" by Kirk Franklin, Mary J, Bono, R. Kelly, and the lady's name I can't remember.

Yeah, I saw Krystal Harris on The Jenny Jones Show the other day. I was like "this is the girl they were talking about on GC." She has a really nice voice...her "tight" shag had grown out, though (she needs to cut it again, in my opinion). She sang her song "Superwoman (or Supergirl)." I thought she was going to sit in front of the piano the whole time, but she didn't. If she had, I was going to say that she was the BackStreet Boyz response to Alicia Keys...if Krystal had braids, they might look like sisters *:p*

I found the exact date and cause of her death as well as a What's Happening Site. I knew that Martin Lawrence was on What's Happening Too but not Regina King. I remember seeing Shirley on a TV show at the end of 1999 and I thought she looked ill -- sunken in face and shortly thereafter she passed on.

The cartilage (sp?) in her nose had deteriorated and collapsed due to years of (alleged) cocaine abuse - that's why her face looked so different in later years.

Ya'll have me laughing my butt off in here!!!! Anyway, I forgot who, but they asked about Heavy D. He plays Bob Lick, the school social worker on Fox's "Boston Public". This is of particular interest to me because that is what I'm going to specialize in while I'm in graduate school starting this summer.

Rob Base is BROKE!! My boyfriend and I saw him on VH1's "100 One-Hit Wonders Countdown." He blamed bad management for his broke condition. I think the host of the show said that he's currently trying to get back into rap.

Sir Mix-A-Lot runs a electronics store in California. He too was broke but started the business from the money that he got from letting people use the song in movies from what I hear.


If anybody can tell me about Kool Moe Dee, I'd appreciate it a lot. My boyfriend has an old, old tape of videos that he taped off that channel The Box (remember that??) and it had a Kool Moe Dee video on it and I was wondering what happened to him?

Larry Blackmon, the lead singer of Cameo who wore the, errrr, "cup" is now a DJ on an Atlanta station--Kiss 104. I think he does the 10 to 2 slot or something. I think Cameo (including Larry) still tours on Ol' Skool concerts. I also think they all still live in Atlanta.

The trio released two albums before breaking up, and had such hits like “Don’t Walk Away” and “One Woman.” Well, former group member Tonya Kelly has a home decorating business, Houston-bred Di Reed is living in Los Angeles, CA, and Joi Marshall is now a minister and is working on a gospel album.

I know that Pebbles is now more behind the scenes, but I did also hear that once she got "saved" she would only be singing gospel.

Someone a while b ack asked about Lalah Hathaway and I heard that she replaced Allayah (sp) in the Matrix II

I saw a special on Jodeci and for now there are no plans to get back together for an album. I even think that KC and JOJO were planning on putting out a gospel CD

Pebbles, or Perri Nixon, is now married to Otis Nixon, a former baseball player for the Atlanta Braves (who happens to be the former husband of Juanita Leonard Nixon, the former wife of Sugar Ray Leonard!). They are both Christains and have an active ministry in Atlanta--the name excapes me right now. She also is a member of New Birth Baptist Church ( w/ Eddie Long--same church that held Lisa Lopes' funeral) and, as I understand it, counsels women. If you ever watch New Birth on TV occasionally when he does an alter call (especially for women with issues) you will hear him ask for "Perri to come and pray". I'm not sure if she sings.
