Wow - I can't believe I had to look on page 2 to find this thread! I don't know how I feel about London going home, but I really like Aminat so I'm glad she stayed (even though she seriously needs to step up her game).

I really didn't believe they'd send London home because this was the ep they decided to address her weight gain and it would seem like they were sending her home because of that. I didn't think Tyra would even RISK alluding to that. I'm sooooo glad Aminat stayed, though! I thought she was done for, but I'm so happy. I never really like London until this ep, now I'm almost sad to see her go, lol.

Anyone want to give me a recap of tonight's show? I am still in Georgia, and the last thing my father would want to watch is ANTM.

Well, I don't have time for a full recap, but a brief summary -
the girls had a challenge right when they got off the plane to find the girl from Ipanema in pairs. Fo & Natalie won (got some sort of gift basket). They learned some sort of street fighting/dancing thing (obviously I wasn't paying that close of attention) where Fo won 25 extra frames - and she had to pick another girl to take the frames away from. She picked Teyona. They then did a photo shoot where they had to channel Carmen Miranda (think the Chiquita Banana logo). Aminat and Natalie were in the bottom two - Natalie went home.

Not sure I agree with that, as Aminat continues to only be so-so, but I didn't like Natalie's attitude so I'm not sorry to see her go for that reason.

They looked for the girl from Ipanema and found her.

They did some sort of Brazilian kickboxing thing as a challenge and Fo won. She got 25 extra frames. She also was permitted to take away 25 frames from someone & she chose Teyona because Teyona didn't choose her to receive the challenge reward last week. This is a competition and every woman for herself. (in case you forgot that, LOL)

They posed with fruit on their heads like Carmen Miranda. Alison got best pic of the week. Aminat and Natalie (who IMO looked like a man in her pic) were bottom 2. Natalie got booted and was saying as she packed "I can't believe I am going home when someone had a worse picture than me." Needless to say she needs to get over herself.

yay for Allison and Teyona... my favs and hopefully they are the final two...

Agree, Allison's look is so editorial. She can definitely go far.
Teyona reminds me of Danielle, she has that exotic look and passion in her eyes that draws your attention.

BYE BYE NAT! She was such a pain in the ass to watch. There's a line of respect for prominent members of society and she definitely did not earn my respect at all with her snooty behavior and remarks.

I really didn't like Natalie but though Aminat did worse. I was happy to see either one go. I really like Fo a lot but still do not like Allison.

Agreed, but I can totally see what Natalie was pissed. She has received very good comments from the judges each week and I don't think she was ever in the bottom. Her attitude sucked though.

Oh that attitude DEFINITELY needed to go. And when they showed all of her pictures back to back she definitely had the same face in each for the most part but so did Aminat!

So Allison's been my fav since the beginning and for weeks I just watch and wait for Tyra to send her home... SO glad she's getting better and had a top week this go round. I'd really like to see her in the finals.

Aminat can go next as far as I'm concerned.

Allison's my favorite too!!! She's so interesting and seems like a nice girl to boot! That nose bleed thing was a bit weird but I'm willing to overlook it... I'm just glad Sandra got eliminated, I cheered when that happened!

I really liked Fo and I'm kind of bummed she left. I was rooting for Aminat to go home...

Ok, I just finished watching (yay DVR).

First off all, I think I said it once but I'll say it again...

THIS IS THE WORST CYCLE EVER!!!! I'm sorry but I don't think any of the remaining girls are that pretty. I know, I know, Tyra, there's "more to modeling than pretty" but really?

I really didn't like anyone throughout the season, but if I had to pick it WAS Fo...

I guess if I had to pick a new favorite it would be Aminat. I don't really think she has that pretty of a face and I can't stand when she opens her mouth to talk, but she's got an INSANE body, great walk, and I LOOOOOOVE her skin tone.

Allison is my next pick. At first I didn't like her cause the producers made her the token oddball. (You know, there's always a weirdo, always a plus size, always someone who was some kind of victim)...and I HATE when shows do that. But now that they've stopped that, and we got to see what she's really like besides her quirks, I like her personality. She has good pics, but definite just needs more confidence, and just a little bit more versatility.

Then I'd pick Celia. I love how passionate she is about fashion, and how much she wants to be in the industry. Although she does look old, she looks fresh at the same time. But yeah, I think that she does look very old...and she's just starting to get on my nerves, I can't figure out why.

And Teyona needs to go. Her hairline starts on the top of her head. That's all I'm going to say about that.

I know that Tyra says that modeling is more than just being pretty but really when you look at magazine ads that you find in Cosmo or commercials on tv do you really see someone looking like Allison? Or any of them really?

I watch Make Me a Supermodel on Bravo and think that they definitely have more of the typical model types. I still do enjoy ANTM, though maybe not as much this cycle.

I liked Fo, but it definitely seemed like she was struggling. I think Aminat is GORGEOUS, if only she could step it up a notch she might have a chance at winning. I like Celia, but think her look is too old to win. Similar to Renee from the cycle Jaslene won. Right now I see it being between Teyona and Allison.

This cycle is awfully boring. It's pretty obvious that Teyona is going to win...and I find her as exciting as McKey last season. Ugh! And I'm sorry, but her hair is TERRIBLE...why did Tyra think that slicked back mullet-looking style would be attractive?

This season SUCKS. No one has quit, Tyra hasn't flipped out on anyone, we don't have anyone as crazy as Lisa from Cycle 5 or annoying as Melrose from Cycle 7. I kind of want to bring back the out lesbian (remember Kim?), or even Sandra just because superbitches who can't model that well make the show interesting.

I do like Allison, Celia is starting to get on my nerves, and Aminat just needs to stop talking forever. I don't understand why the judges love Teyona so much...the swimsuit picture was boring. She does have a great portfolio, but she's not exactly articulate. I'm waiting for her to epically fail on the next commercial the girls shoot. Ughhh this cycle sucks. They should have cast the weird conspiracy theorist girl from the final 32....not exactly a model, but I would have watched just for her.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Celia is starting to become annoying. I still can't put my finger on why though.

I still like Allison. She was my pick from the beginning and I'm standing behind her and her alien eyes (although they haven't been so buggy lately). I think her shyness will make the commercial difficult for her, however.

Ditto on the boring season. I say we bring back Jade.

This is the problem, they are trying to pick someone who's going to be a good mass market cosmetics spokeswoman (for a line directed at younger women) AND a good couture/runway model. The only time that happened was 15-20 years ago with the supermodels. The gap between what runway models and mass market models look like nowadays is so huge as to be ridiculous and Tyra needs to quit thinking she can close it.

I don't know why so many people dislike Allison -- she's been my fav since the beginning and I'm glad to see she's still around.

Allison is really growing on me but I still hate, hate, hate Aminat.

Ugh, I'm all confused over who I like again! I think Allison is my new favorite of who's left. I've been skeptical about whether or not she can pull off a cover girl shot, but from the previews she looked GORGEOUS!!!!

Aminat dropped for me, and I still can't stand Teyona...her hair... ughhh....

I really can't stand Teyona...I think her hair is horrendous. I'm in love with Allison though...Fo was my favorite, but Allison is a close second!

I seriously have not liked Aminat from day one. She looks like she should be a model, but she really has never done anything that great. And for the past 5 weeks she has either been in the bottom 2 or one above the bottom two. Every week I think she's going home, but every week they keep her around! Why? The judges say that she isn't photogenic so I think they should have sent her home weeks ago and let someone be in the competition that actually can take a good photo.

My bet is that Teyona will win and Allison will be runner-up. I’ve always liked Allison but she isn’t very good at runway.

Jade should've been on the Modelville Tyra did for her show. That would've PWNED.

I feel like Allison wouldn't make the top 2 but I've missed the last 2 weeks so I haven't seen all the improvement that everyone else has. After I catch up, we'll see.

I'm sad to see Celia go because I was really pulling for her, but after she threw Talia under the bus, she wasn't nearly my fave. I still love Aminat, but she needs a scootch more maturity. I think after watching McKey win, I'm over super-great models who are bland on personality. I'd take Aminat's good modeling and super personality over Teyona's great modeling and non-personality. Allison...well I wouldn't be mad if she won. She's never been a fave of mine, but I'd prefer her over Teyona though I know the talent level's not there.

As crappy as Aminat's photographs are, I kind of want her to be in the final two because she easily has the best walk of the season

Really? I thought she was a nice person but she was not only short, but had unimpressive pics to me.

I just thought she was SO adorable. I absolutely adored her. I agree that her pics weren't super hot, but she was just such a cutie.

I thought Celia's pictures came out so well, but she was a total bitch 100% of the time. I think I despise her because I loved Talia, but whatever.

Do you really think Allison doesn't have the talent? I think every single one of her pictures have been breathtaking.

I didn't say she doesn't have talent--I just don't think she'd beat out Teyona even though I'd like her to.

Lol, it's fine! IDK, the judges are gonna have a hard time. (IMO) Allison owns personality, Teyona owns photos, Aminat owns runway. This is gonna be one heck of a finale!!! I was thinking about leaving town on Wed. morning, but I might sleep during the day, leave after the show, just drive through the night and get there Thurs morning.

ETA: I can't believe I'm considering altering a 9-hour drive for this show.

We know what is coming... a commercial, a Covergirl ad photo shoot, and a runway... She is going to struggle in all three categories, the photo shoot being that its really commercial. She will have to rely on her photo book to get through, and that could be difficult.

You think Aminat had a super personality?!? I think she comes off as a massive beyotch and 100% not likeable.

She can be a great person with hilarious things to say when she wants to be. She just needs to lose the immature, "in-your-face" piece. Either way, it's better than being boring. :shrug: I mean, go back to Cycle 6--I couldn't stand Jade from start to finish, but I'd have taken her over Molly Sue or Leslie any day.

Therein lies the problem. Yes, Jade made great TV. But (to paraphrase her) this isn't Anerica's Next Top TV Star. I'm sure there are real superstar models out there who would be absolutely boring to watch for 5 minutes let alone a season. ANTM lets the drama get in the way to make good TV and keeps people around longer than they should for that reason. But I watch it anyway. LOL
