I just finished Michael Crichton "Next", I'm normally not into sci-fi novels but this was actually a good read.

Now I'm reading Jane Green "Swapping Lives".

deltadevil 03-22-2009 04:50 PM

Just started reading Drama High: Courtin Jayd

LucyCats 03-22-2009 06:50 PM

I just finished Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman. I was a cute read - but it seemed so FAST after the Twilight series.

I finished Son of A Witch!

I feel like I accomplished something. haha

gee_ess 03-23-2009 12:03 AM

I just finished Dewey which is the cat version of Marley and Me. It was easy and quick but I enjoyed it because I am a cat person (and a dog person!)

AlphaFrog 12-26-2012 12:58 PM

Does anyone else get moody when you've just finished a really good book (especially a series)? You feel like you've gotten to know someone, and now they're gone.

Just happened to me this weekend, though thus morning, I found out there is another book coming. Not sure how I feel about that, though, since I feel like the series has come to a natural ending, and anything further will automatically jump the shark.

Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom by Ron Paul.

I'm enjoying it. Some parts have been rather thought provoking and has me rethinking my views on some issues. It's been a faster read than what I thought too.

Price of Politics, by Bob Woodward

Just got it for Christmas!

tea&krumpets 12-26-2012 06:28 PM

11/22/63 by Stephen King. I'm only 200 pages in (out of nearly 850) & I love it. Can't put it down.

SWTXBelle 12-26-2012 11:57 PM

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel

aephi alum 12-27-2012 01:10 AM

Endymion - Dan Simmons. This is a reread. It seems like there are no new good books out there these days. Hey, Orson Scott Card, would you PLEASE write another book?!? :(

ASUADPi 12-27-2012 08:42 AM

I am listening to the audio book The Innocent by David Baldacci.

I am reading the book Never Have I Ever by Sarah Shepard.

I'm also reading my developmental psychology and sociology texts (unfortunately they do count).

I absolutely LOVED this book. Crazy ending though, FYI. I wanted more even though it was a huge book!

I'm reading this right now, too.

Just finished The Passage and then The Twelve by Justin Cronin. Apocalyptic vampire novels. It's a three part series, but who knows when the third is coming?

txAOII_15 12-27-2012 12:42 PM

I'm reading I Thought my Father was God which is a collection of stories from NPR's national story project. Some of these stories are really touching.

I love listening to those stories though I've never read the books. More than once I've ended up at work completely in tears because of that series.

No Easy Day

Yea I know this is a guyish book but it's really interesting and entertaining. Makes me proud to be American:)

AlphaFrog 12-27-2012 11:22 PM

After breezing through a Katie MacAllister book (seriously, they're terrible - why do I keep getting talked into reading them?), I started on one I got for Christmas (that I was really excited about)....only to find out it was a sequel and I'm pretty sure the whole plot of the first book was given away in the two paragraphs I read. Ugh. I guess I'll be buying the first & third books now so I can read this one.

CutiePie2000 12-28-2012 01:14 AM

I'm reading Book #3 in the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, "Fifty Shades Freed". To be honest, I'm over it, and the writing is isht, but I spent the money on the trilogy at Costco, so I figured that I might as well finish it. Sigh...

Next is Book #3 from the Hunger Games Trilogy, "Mocking Jay". Yeah, I'm a little behind the times, oh well.....

Leslie Anne 12-28-2012 02:04 AM

I'm reading Sin in the Second City: Madams, Ministers, Playboys, and the Battle for America's Soul by Karen Abbott. I'm learning a lot about late 19th century Chicago. It's fascinating.

AlphaFrog 01-15-2013 11:58 AM

I am LOVING The Mortal Instruments series. I'm halfway through City of Glass (#3), and it's fantastic. Such imagination. Total page turner - they're HUGE books and i started them Friday.

angels&angles 01-15-2013 12:36 PM

Partway through Neil Stephenson's Snowcrash for my book club and I HATE IT. It's going to be really, really hard to finish in time :(

honeychile 01-15-2013 01:55 PM

Just finished The Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffen. I loved it until the ending, and am now trying to decide what to tackle next.

etadrisophila 01-18-2013 01:14 PM

Three Cups of Tea
and
Stones into Schools

both by Greg Mortenson.

honeychile 01-18-2013 01:40 PM

I could swear that I read The Help before, but I picked it up last night, and it doesn't seem like I did read it. So, I'm reading The Help.

tea&krumpets 01-19-2013 01:08 AM

I just started The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - so far, so good!

KillarneyRose 01-25-2013 07:31 AM

Just starting "The Night Circus" and I like it so far.

Honeychile, "The Help" is great; I really enjoyed it!

Ditto on both of these. The Night Circus is really unique. The author has a fantastic imagination!

I've been reading a fun mystery series by Rhys Bowen, called Her Royal Spyness mysteries. They're about a penniless daughter of a Duke in the early 1930s who solves mysteries along with her equally penniless aristocratic boyfriend. They're well-written...funny, some romance, interesting plots. The 6th one is out now and is very good.

clarinette 01-26-2013 03:16 AM

Gilead by Marilynne Robinson. This theology class is great!

AGDLynn 01-26-2013 08:50 AM

And Furthermore - by Dame Judi Dench

A little boring..up to 1986 - haven't gotten to As Time Goes By and Bond yet. ;)

ADPi95 01-26-2013 12:12 PM

Just picked up Third Shift (Wool book #8) by Hugh Howey. SOOO excited that I'm dropping everything today to read it!

honeychile 01-26-2013 04:38 PM

KR, I finished The Help in almost record time - it was excellent! I'm now trying to decide what fiction I'm going to read next (although I hate to call The Help fiction, it's so true to life).

ADPi95 01-26-2013 04:50 PM

And done! Yes, I read that fast :)

starang21 02-10-2013 08:27 AM

third bullet - stephen hunter

AlphaFrog 04-24-2013 07:35 AM

I just finished "The Elite" (Selection Series). I've liked the series so far. Now, I'm trying VERY hard not to start a new book so that I have time to get everything put together for a big event I'm working this weekend. IT'S KILLING ME! I even bought my husband the Spanish version of City of Bones (Mortal Instruments series) last night so that I can live vicariously through his reading. I think I need help. And I hug. I really need a hug. :(

AOII Angel 04-24-2013 09:02 AM

The Kingmaker's Daughter by Phillipa Gregory and some Diana Gabaldon book that is TERRIBLE.

Still BLUTANG 04-24-2013 10:00 AM

just finished The Known World by Edward P. Jones, and this evening will probably wrap up Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northrop.

Next book is Ghana Must Go by Taiye Selasi.

LaneSig 04-24-2013 10:34 AM

I am reading Tana French's Faithful Place. She writes a series called the Dublin Mysteries. The first was In the Woods. Each series has a different member of the Dublin Police Department as the lead character. I am loving Faithful Place.
