I remember this one! The Chi O's at my school did it, too. My best friend is a Chi O, so I remember her humming it under her breath during recruitment.

My favorite:

Alpha Ep's f-i-n-e fine
Right down the l-i-n-e line and
We will l-o-v-e love her
All the t-i-m-e time
We are b-e-s-t best
Of all the r-e-s-t rest and
We will cheer cheer cheer with all our z-e-s-t zest
Let's wear the royal blue
And let's show that white
And let's have fun tonight!
Yes, AΩE's f-i-n-e fine
Right down the l-i-n-e line and
We will l-o-v-e love her

Every time I hear "Rockin' Robin" I still sing "She rocks on the hilltop, all the day long, rockin' and a boppin' and a singing her song, all the other Greeks on LBJ street, love to hear that Gamma going "tweet tweet tweet". Rockin' Gamma, Rockin' Phi, so go rockin' Gamma cause you're really going to rock tonight!"

AND to the tune of "Don't Let Go (of what we've got)".

Don't let go,
of what we've got,
don't let go sis we've got a lot
got a lot of love between us, hang on, hang on, hang on,
to what we've got.

That little badge of pearls upon our hearts
ain't a fortune baby but you know that it stands
for our love
The love you can't deny it
The love you just can't hide it
Sisters! Sisters! Sisters!

Boom Boom, there will be nothing but Theta
With the blue skies up above

There's a Theta kite for every girl that's right and two twin stars are shining bright!

Boom Boom, there will be nothing but Theta
Boom Boom, for the girls we love
Boom Boom Theta!

ohhh man, this song gets stuck in EVERYONE'S head on sorority row...we've got the rep of being the loudest house :P

purpletheta 02-16-2009 12:43 PM

another one we do every year, to the tune of grand old flag:

we're the K-A-Ts, we're the best in the land
and you'll know us wherever we go
from the golden gate
to the empire state
wearing the black and the gold
K-A-T means love with the twin stars above
we'll be loyal forever you see
so should auld acquaintance be forgot
be a kite-flying K-A-T!

lots of clapping.

oneloveucf 02-20-2009 08:43 PM

I think there is 3 I'll never forget

First is Zeta Tau Alpha's it went like this:
Z-T
Z-T-A Z-T-A
Zeta Tau Alpha
Z-T
Z-T-A
Zeta's the one for me!

and then Alpha Xi Delta's which went like this:
A-L-P-H-A X-I D-E-L-T-A
Alpha Xi Alpha Xi
Deeeeeelta!
Alpha Alpha Alpha Xi
is the best sorority
dont you wish that you could be
an Alpha Alpha Alpha Xi!

and lastly Chi Omega's which went like this:
Chi Omega
Chi Chi Omega
C-H-I O-M-E-G-A
Chi Omega
Chi Chi Omega
Go Chi O!
Chi Chi Chi...and then repeat

I'll always remember ZTA's as the Witch doctor song - it's the same tune as the oo ee, oo part of the song -"And then the witchdoctor he told me what to do, he said...Oo, ee, oo ah ah, Ting tang,"

piphiangel314 03-04-2009 08:49 PM

Oh... our rush songs get stuck in my head ALL the time. The top 3 my friends are utterly SICK of hearing are

P-I P-H-I
P-I P-H-I Pi Phi!
I'm for Pi
For Beta Phi
For I just love Pi Beta Phi!

I am a P!
I am a P-I!
I am a P-I-B-E-T-A-P-H-I!
I wear my A-R-R-O-W
Over my H-E-A-R-T
And I will L-O-V-E P-I B-E-T-A P-H-I!

And last but not least...

Honey, my little girl.
Won't you come and let me whisper in your ear?
For you know, I love you so.
You're just the girl for our sorority.
You had a heart, and stole our own.
And sure as the Arrow's true.
Won't you tell us that you love us?
And pledge to the wine and the blue!
Oh honey, honey, my little girl...

Because of sidewalk songs (in the olden days), which sometimes lasted 10 minutes, all the 'rushee's' (900 to 1100) would sing this one song the entire 'rush' week back in the dorms. Would drive all the other chapters crazy! Somehow it was the only one the rushee's would remember.

I was totally inept at singing flip-flop. Then, I finally learned to do it correctly when a former Gammie Man taught it to me. :o He explained that I should think of the parts as being "in threes". Once he explained it that way, I totally got it. Now I can do it right the first time as long as I'm not thinking too hard about it. Funny how it took a fraternity alumnus to teach me one of our own songs!

.....Kelly :)

IUHoosiergirl88 07-09-2009 07:37 PM

Oh man...I remember a few of the door chants still

TRI DELTA, Badoom badoom, TRI DELTA (repeat), and then DELTA DD at the end

I'm a Theta
She's a Theta
Wouldn't you like to be a Theta?
Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Theta
Wooo!

Also there was an AXiD one that was to the tune of that song from the 90's, 'Mickey,' I just remember the last line was Alpha (WOOO) Alpha Xi Delts

OH MY GOD

I remember when I worked in the Student Union at my school I was put in charge of helping the sororities with heavy lifting and some of the basic cleaning they had to do for recruitment.

I sat outside the whole day and listened to their recruitment songs and this one by far is the most infectious. It stays with you for weeks.

I heard a slightly different version though

It was

Come on in, join the fun
Meet the Alpha Gamms each one
Parties, friends, loyalty
Meet the girls of AGD

uh-huh, soglad immanalphagamm
uh-huh, soglad immanalphagamm

I sat out there for so long I perfectly memorized all of their songs. I was at a Student Government event with an AGD later on and she was stunned when I was able to sing the whole thing to her.

Haha, that reminds me of my boyfriend and his roommates...They very close to the Pi Phi house, so they were able to hear all of their songs. One night, not too long after rush, our friend, who's a Pi Phi was hanging out with us at their apartment. We were on the subject of rush, and before you know it the boys broke into "Pi Pi Beta Phi, P-I-P-H-I Pi Phi, Me for Pi for Beta Phi, I just love Pi Beta Phi!" It was cute!

ETA: Lol, I just watched that Gamma Phi Flip Flop video... I love how you can tell some girls have still got it, but others look like they're concentrating super hard to remember it! (Not that I should talk cause I'm sure that I would be in the concentrating really hard group...)

I love me some flip flop. When I went through recruitment, the whole chapter did this as the opening to the slideshow, and I was mesmerized. One of the girls in my pledge class was obsessed with it (ok, I was, too), and we all used to practice it at really random times.

I recently practiced with some collegiates I advise, and it was different than I remember! I swear it got changed on me! :(

chitownxo 07-14-2009 09:00 PM

Although it's been quite a while since I've been through rush (yes, it was rush back then), I still catch myself saying these..

Alpha Sigma Tau
T-A-U
T-A-U-S
We are the Taus, uh huh, and we are the best

Sigma Sigma Sigma

Sigma Sigma Sigma,
Tri, Tri, Tri
We are the girls of Sigma Tri
We are loyal to our sisters,
And faithful 'till we die.

All of the sisters would stand on their front porch and jump up and down - you could hear them blocks away.

Alpha Sigma Alpha
A
A-L-P
A-L-P-H-A
Alpha Sigma all the way,

My chapter certainly sang Flip Flop differently than the Chico chapter in that video.

perfectinpurple 07-15-2009 08:27 PM

I'm always humming these when I walk around campus:

(to the tune of supercalifragilisticexpialadocious)
A-L-P-H-A, E-P-L-I-S-O-N, Phi,
when asked the best sorority we always do reply
A-L-P-H-A, E-P-L-I-S-O-N, Phi

and a Delta Zeta one they sang as we left:
Hope you miss us 'cause we'll miss you too
Delta Zeta, Delta Zeta is the one for you

My chapter did that a couple years!

ellebud 07-18-2009 04:19 PM

Ok..I watched the flip flop. We did that...at Brentwood Elementary school in the early 60s! At that time it was done with two girls and obviously, different lyrics. It started with, "The space of two lips together..." Yes, despite (my) age I remember the whole thing, including lyrics. My daughters, when they were in elementary school (not far from Brentwood) did the same thing! Made me feel ancient...and great...to see this again.

pearlbubbles 07-18-2009 05:03 PM

I always get a couple stuck in my head...

There's the "Chi Omega! Chi Chi Omega!..." one that's been mentioned a few times.

Also "K-A-P-P-A! G-A-M-M-A! Kappa Gamma! Whoo! It's what I am-a! Whoo! (repeat)"

And then Alpha Phi lives next door, so right around recruitment/recruitment camp, I find myself singing this one a lot:

We're the Alpha Phis, the silver and bordeaux!
We wear the ivy leaf and we want you to know!
We're A-L-P-H-A P-H-I Alpha Phi! A-L-P-H-A P-H-I Phi!
(repeat)

There's also usually a lot of discussion why it's "silver and merlot," haha. At least bordeaux and merlot rhyme.

a_e_phi 03-15-2010 01:28 AM

DEL-TA delta DEL-TA, GA-MMA gamma GA-MMA, we are the delta gammas we wear the colors pink and blue we are the delta gammas dont you wanna be a dg too dont you wanna be a dg too

PHI PHI AEPHI LIKE IT LOVE IT AEPHI WANT IT NEED IT GOTTA REPEAT IT I JUST LOVE THOSE AEPHI'S

everybody here loves alpha alpha everybody here loves alpha phi

ellebud 03-15-2010 11:54 AM

My daughter's chapter (DG) does a slight variation of the DG cheer. (We are Delta Gamma...We wear)

I can't remember the AEPhi cheer. Its been a LONG time.:o

SthrnZeta 03-15-2010 04:15 PM

There are only two that I remember (aside from ZTA) from formal recruitment as a PNM.

I remember Chi-O being the first party where the girls banged on the door while we waited outside to go in and it totally freaked me out at first and then I thought it was really cool.

We are the Chi-O's
We're the big number 1!
We are the Chi-O's
And we're second to none!
So hear me calling
And heed our call
Go Chi-O and something something...

Not sure all of that is right (maybe have gotten two songs confused...?)

I remember loving Alpha Phi's good bye song:

I love the ivy
I love forget me nots
I love the silver and bordeaux...

And then of course there was ZTA with the Mary Poppins song (very hard for NMs to learn but once you do, you never forget it) and the Boom Boom song:

Boom Boom! I'm glad I'm a ZTA!
Boom Boom! Wouldn't have it any other way!

I'm a ZTA to stay
Won't you come our way?

Boom boom boom

Zeta love is good
Won't you join our sisterhood?
If you'd like to stay
You could be a ZTA!

TriDLove 04-03-2010 05:38 PM

Well, I obviously have my house's chant stuck in my head all the time:
D-E-L-T-A DELTA GO TRI DELTA
D-E-L-T-A TRI DELT'S THE ONE FOR YOU
WOOO HOOO!

But I also love Alpha Phi's silver and bordeaux chant (as does everyone else on this board, apparently).

Oh and Gphi's 'Flip Flop' has been stuck in my head since I heard it. If you need to have a song stuck in your head, here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrPCpYs012U

KKGTay 04-03-2010 08:12 PM

Chi O-
Smile, Pep!
You can tell a Chi O by her
Charm and style,
Boys surround her all the while
Smile, pep, charm, style,
That's what we got,
But most of all you'll love our laugh!

KD-
K-A-P-P-A Kappa K-A-P-P-A
D-E-L-T-A Delta D-E-L-T-A
We are the Kappa Delta.
We are the one for you.
We are the Kappa Delta.
Don't you wanna be a KD too?

"The Coke Song"

Whereever there's an owl, there's always a key,
Whereever there's blue, there's always a fleur de lis.
It all started at Monmouth in 1870,
With friendship, love, and trust they founded our fraternity.

De da de da de always Kappa Gamma (x2)

Boyd, Bennett, Walker, Willits, Stewart, and Stevenson,
Our six founding Kappas, then came Lambda chapter.
Kappa Kappa Gamma is always the one,
Where's there's food, friends, and fun, there's always a Kappa.

De da de da de always Kappa Gamma (x2)

I still sing that song ALL THE TIME.

BeeVee 04-08-2010 03:20 AM

So I go to a Christian university that doesn't have sororites, we have "social clubs" which work in much the same way. But there's a line in one of the songs sung by the notorious "party club" as my school and it goes "meet 'em and greet 'em and love 'em and leave 'em and break 'em in right, just got up to say that we're rugged but right." Rugged but Right is their motto, too. I dunno why, but it just gets stuck in my head, haha. It's sung really fast and sounds really cool, so maybe that's why? :P

MUSK81 04-08-2010 02:43 PM

Alpha, Alpha, Alpha Xi
AZD Sorority
F-U-Z Z-I-E
Alpha, Alpha, Alpha XI, Whoo!

Sigma, Sigma, Sigma, Sigma Sigma K
Like it, love it, yes, oh, yes, oh me oh my
It's the best sorority,
May be on earth but it's heaven to me,
I say, Sigma, Sigma, Sigma, Sigma, Sigma K
Oh, you may go to college and you may go to school,
but if you're not a Sigma Kappa, you're an educated fool, that's all!

ATΩbro 04-15-2010 03:08 AM

Well the only chant we really do at my chapter is a generic one for ATΩ

Ruh Rah Rega!
Alpha Tau Omega!
Hip, Horrah!
Hip, Horrah!
Three cheers for Alpha Tau!
A! T! O!
(every chapter throws in it's own stuff at the end, and ours has always been this)
AWWWW, SUCK IT!

Yeah it's dumb, but it's great after a win in intermurals :)

as far as songs go, my favorite is our dirtiest ;)

Rat shit bat shit, p*ssy don't smell,
c*ck sucker mofo Taus give 'em hell!
With a Cast-iron skillet and a Blue and Gold rod,
I'm a bad mofo I'm a Tau by God!

(this is obviously edited, we don't really say mofo ;))

then we kill our drinks, no matter what or how much. When pledging I was always surprised how the girls thought this was funny instead of insulting or whatever.

bomchikawawa 06-02-2010 07:27 PM
