The latest from fivethirtyeight:
353 to 163 which is very close to what they predicted this afternoon. http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/...pm-update.html |
hey Tinia!! yeah i have cnn and fivethirtyeight on my computer, refreshing every ten minutes or so...
|
CONSIDERING that Calif., Or, and Washington are locks for Obama as they have been considered this whole time, Obama has won the election. Everyone is giving Obama 207 electorate votes without this state... and those three states have 73 votes combined...

NOW what am I going to do with my kick-ass Sarah Palin impression?

Joe Biden won his seat back in Delaware. Did he even campaign for it?
|
I know in Texas we have the LBJ clause - you can run for two political offices at the same time. Wonder if they have the same thing in Delaware.

The Democrats took all 5 House seats here. Too bad about Shays (Republican incumbent in my district) - he's done a lot of good work. But hopefully Himes will do good things over the next two years. |

CNN IS PROJECTING VIRGINIA!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Virginia goes for Obama!
First time it's gone for a Democrat for President since 1964. |
CNN just called the race for Obama.
Say it with me....... President Obama............ :D |
|
CNN has officially projected Obama as the next president elect!!!! GRANT PARK IS FREAKING OUT!
We can hear it, and we're a good distance away in another neighborhood. ETA: SOMEONE JUST SET OFF FIREWORKS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. |
CNN just called the election-President Obama.
|
|
VIRGINIA I LOVE YOU!!!! WELL WORTH GETTING UP AT 5AM THIS MORNING!!!!!!
|
Nittany that is my laptop background AS WE SPEAK!!!!
|
WOW. Just...wow!
Chicago: well chuffed and ready for a party. Also:anyone just catch the AKA on the NBC coverage? I've been spotting letters during the night, NBC has been filming lots of college groups. |
I'm seriously tearing up.
|
Can I just say that I am so glad that things are coming to an end?
Elections are always so tough here in Ohio and I've just been so sick of the negativity on both ends. I'm just so excited for things to simmer down and for people to return to normal social interactions. Seriously. Now let's see what he does. |
This is more painful than originally thought. And, I got another nasty Facebook message.
If anyone wants to punch me in the gut right now, it's a good time... |

Honestly, congratulations to all the Obama voters. I obviously wasn't voting for him, but I'm happy for you all that you got to see your candidate elected. Congrats. |

I hope that Obama can unite the country and lead us all together into better times. |

Oh, and sister Nittany, you're not the only one. I just got off the phone with my mom and we cried together! |
I must admit that I didn't study the candidates' platforms word for word but the highlights made me vote Obama.
It may have been wrong of me but when I looked at McCain, I kept seeing Bush and the prospect of Sarah Palin for 4 years - whether she was VP or President. I didn't want that to happen to the country I love. |
