As long as you put a fence around it and don't step foot in the surrounding town.

My cousin went to Denison and it seems like it had that southern frat atmosphere, but is too small for me...

Bucknell looks interesting, anything else?

Denison is a lot more liberal than you think. It draws heavily from the Northeast. But, it is small(ish) and one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever been to

I will agree that miami is pretty fratty, and purdue is as well. i would also say virginia is.

Virginia isn't in the South, then?

Union and Colgate, both in upstate NY? They used to be, at least.

I don't understand the use of "fratty" as an adjective. :-(

I have never really thought of virginia as being in the south myself, yes it is south of the mason-dixon line, and it has a lot of southern features. I would only call it south if you referred to bama, AR, LA, Miss, and Ga as deep south.

Which is what Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and South Carolina are -- the Deep South. Sections of northern Virginia and Hampton Roads notwithstanding, Virginia -- the home of Robert E. Lee and of the White House of the Confederacy, of Monument Avenue, of Washington and Lee University -- is most certainly the South. ;)

Calm down, she's not saying anything offensive about the South. She's referencing the fact that Croakies misspelled "Dixon."

I KNOW - hence the amused smiley. Not ;. ( and it's really geared more towards the addendum, not the post itself!)
