I think Coldstone outdoes everyone else, IMO.
But out of these two options, Dairy Queen. |
Out of the 2 choices, I would pick Baskin-Robbins. Their Peanut butter and chocolate ice cream is da bomb
Actually, I like it better than coldstone |

I'll take Baskin Robbins over Coldstone now. But you really can't compare Baskin Robbins to Dairy Queen. Like someone else said soft serve is not ice cream. |

marble slab rules
but i'm always up for gold medal from BR |
If the only options are BR or DQ it would depend on what I wanted to get. Strangely bright white ice cream dipped in chocolate? DQ. A single scoop of coffee ice cream with chocolate jimmies? BR.
I like Apple Pie at Coldstone but I always feel sick after eating their ice cream. Given a choice, I'd stick with Haagen Dazs. |
Coldstone is expensive (I get carried away since you can throw things in there). I always feel robbed after leaving and it just feels pretentious. Ice cream is supposed to feel simple.
H-D is good too, but I can't forgive them for charging $3 for a single scoop in a cup and the whole Sticky Toffee Pudding fiasco. (Tasted like nothing! Even the employees thought so). BR is nice cos they never charge me for all my toppings b/c their employees always seem too miserable to care (but that also means your wait can be long). DQ is okay, but they offer Thin Mint Blizzards and even though the locations out here are shady looking, they cater well to large crowds and kids and babies so I love that. Plus they have the signature swirl and do a lot of charity. So they win. |

And I had forgotten about Hagaan Dazs. They're good too. |
I like coldstone because of the flavors (mmm blueberry muffin) and it is the cleanest! Majority of the Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queens, and Ben & Jerry's in St. Louis are absolutely filthy.
Hygiene matters a LOT to me when it comes to any restaurant. Ice cream places matter even more, since they don't cook ice cream. I more forgiving of not-so-clean restaurants that serve hot food, since cooking may kill the germs. |

Personally, I think Ted Drewes is a little overrated...and it is almost an hour away from where I live.

A good DQ is better than most everyone else, in my opinion. But Coldstone "That's how I roll" is to die for.
|
BR all the way!
|
first i loved baskin robbins( California Girl)....... then i went to college in arkansas and discovered Blue Bell.......... then i lived in Oklahoma and fell for Braums.............. now hands down accross the board.....COLD STONE!
