You are right about not working for a cat or two. I found three kittens hiding in our back porch last summer, they couldn't be more than 3 months old. My friend and I gathered them up, and tried to take them to the humane society but they wouldn't accept them because they were stray animals. We needed to get their shots and everything. So I called up my vet's office (the one i take my dog to) and they won't accept them because they were stray. I asked if they could just give shots, and still nothing. I called a bunch of vets and even the animal hospital, but none of those places were willing to give the little kittens their shots.
We ended up having to take the kittens to animal control. They were willing to accept them, and they'd put them up for adoption if there was nothing wrong with the cats (and if they had an adoptable disposition). We just had to live with the fact that these kittens were probably euthanized. :( |
