I get so peeved at folks being QUICK to correct others when they say Obama is a Muslim..their tone used "No, he is not Muslim, he is a Christian"

Obama has been calling people on that behavior and has specifically reached out to Muslims similar to his Evangelical outreach.

A guy down the hall from me was ranting about how Obama's middle name was "Muhammed" and his first name rhymes with "Osama" and how he'll just die before a man with those names becomes president. :eek: First of all, I had to correct him on the middle name (while calling him an idiot in my mind) and tell him a lil' sumthin' 'bout himself. What does it matter what the man's name is or even what it rhymes with? :mad: That is not reflection on his beliefs and if it was, what's the harm? There's a Christian in the White House right now and Are We Happy?

Some Random Girl: I am a vegetarian; I didn't say that I was going to stop eating meat.

This reminded me - I was at a cookout thrown by my husband's office buddies, and his co-worker's ditzy fiancee turned down the oysters, claiming she was vegan and couldn't possibly eat them. Then less than five minutes later completely went to town on the chicken wings, slurping on the bones and all. "I know I shouldn't, but I just looooove them!" :rolleyes:

Last night, I showed a (white) classmate a vid of me and my nephew playing "cops and robbers" in one of those ride-on cars in the mall (the kind you drop a quarter in and it rocks back and forth). Anyway, I was talking like Madea, just being funny making my nephew laugh. She watches the video frowning and says, "Why do you sound so black all of a sudden?"

I CANNOT.

A parent of a student of mine was complaining to me about one of the other teachers in my building. She looks at me with a serious face and says, I'm glad you're one of those good blacks, then proceeds to hug me.

Due to the smackdown she received, I am currently on house arrest and looking for another job. (ok, this part isn't true, but I was really close to smacking her @$$)

I would've given her a "talking to," though. She needs to be set straight as to not get her ass handed to her by someone else in the future.

well this statement might not be ignant per se and of course is based off opinion, but i gotta say the reasoning behind it, to me, is just stupid

now i dont care if u dont like interracial relationships, but this whole "only when its a black woman/white man is it okay but not the other way around" exception is kinder dumb!
