Here is a really good thread written by a girl who also lived in a sorority suite while she was rushing.

As you can see, she kept her options open even though she liked the sorority women she was living with.

The fact that you'll be living with women from 2 different groups is good - like everyone said they won't be able to talk about rush specifics with you. It will be helpful for you though as far as being able to go into the rush parties and see at least one person you know. :)

I know how you feel. I also have issues with anxiety disorders and it made things a challange when I attended formal recruitment. I don't know how things go at your school, but I ended up finally finding a home at a non-Panhellenic sorority that was just starting and at the time had less than ten members. It let them get to know me and I didn't feel so overwhelmed. The best thing is to do your best and hope you find a group of girls who look past your anxiety and shyness to see the real you. If the girls don't take the time to get to know you..it isn't the right place for you.

I've suffered with this for most of my life and I'm 44 years old. The hardest time I had was during my college years. When I started working I learned to manage it and "fake" through it but it's still there. I think the hardest thing is when people who don't really know me ask me about my personality. If I respond that I am extremely shy they never believe me. It can be really lonely at times. I've been called stuck up, distant, etc. but I don't let those words bother me because I know who I am. I'm sending you a PM.
