i voted for dd because of only their flatbread bfkst sandwiches (the coffee is good too, though)

my favorite donut is the crueller sometimes called kruller or french kruller

Both places used to make good ones, now neither place does :(

but i might try them again, maybe

KK is winning.

Close the poll.

scbelle 04-16-2008 05:23 PM

KK... seeing as how my mom was addicted to them when she was pregnant with me, I guess it's in my blood. Oooh, how I wish I had a glazed doughnut right about now.

Besides, we have no Dunkin Donuts in my area. I've only tried them in Atlanta. If I'm going to commit fat, I'd rather go with KK. :D

Oh honey....NEVER buy them in a convenience store! Those are old. ONLY buy them AT Krispy Kreme, and ONLY buy them when they're hot!
Otherwise, you might as well buy the Dunkins.

Me too. That's probably another reason I don't care for DD... I got called Duncan Donut one too many times in my youth!

SWTXBelle 04-16-2008 06:08 PM

I think it is interesting that many DD supporters cite the coffee, or something other than the doughnuts, in their rationale for picking DD.

KK, no doubt about it.

I picture heaven as streets of gold with Krispy Kreme donuts lining the way. Because, in heaven, there are no such thing as fat grams.

Amen!

Heaven on earth is a Krispy Kreme donut fresh off the conveyor belt. Sigh.

AGDLynn 04-16-2008 09:04 PM

KRISPY KREME!!

Unfortunately there's not one near me so I go to DD although very rarely.

Has anybody actually said their doughnuts are good?

ktbug10474 04-16-2008 11:12 PM

i think not... it's mainly just the coffee

and when they have mentioned the doughnuts they say they dunk it in the coffee......

with krispy kreme you don't have to dip their doughnuts in coffee you can just eat them ......

yep that definitely means KK wins :)

nittanyalum 04-16-2008 11:19 PM

Was just reminded of another reason why I don't like DD -- Rachel Ray is their spokesperson. I find her grating.

epchick 04-16-2008 11:31 PM

So I bought some DD munchkins today. They were extremely hard and stale.

Really? I wish the KK was closer to my house, but we only have one and its on the outskirts of town. Maybe i'll get some tomorrow. mmmmm

Agreed! When I was a kid we used to go to the store and stand in the line to get the hot donuts fresh off the convener belt as a sample before we bought anything! We had to make sure they tasted good, right? :)

IMO, nothing can beat a hot Krispy Kreme and a nice coffee or milk! Sadly the closed our local store a few years ago, and the nearst one is an hour away! :(

ktbug10474 04-17-2008 12:50 AM

that picture looks absolutely nasty. i mean if you like eating stale dough with crud on top of it, it looks good. but to me SICK
