Ok, I thought this thread was just playing around at first.

I don't really think Elvis is alive, just for the record.

:)

This.

It's why I can believe that we should have known about 9/11 before hand, and probably had some of the intelligence, but we weren't listening to the right people. But I'll never believe that a) we killed/faked the people on the plane, b) we snuck demolition experts into the buildings and put in bombs c) we made a controlled demolition NOT look like a controlled demolition, but just enough like one that it spawns theories, and d) when a fire fighter says "pull it" he's using demolition lingo. Too many people, too many coverups. Unless they're all dead, someone would have told.

The Patriots beating the Rams in the Super Bowl after 9/11, Boston winnig the World Series and the Saints getting better after Katrina are 3 of the greatest sports cover ups ever known.

Tiger Woods is the 3rd coming of God (Jordan was the 2nd)

LOL.

I really do believe governments (particularly the US gov't) are the biggest drug dealers. And the other stuff that I typed.

Yeah, I know, when I piped in it sounded like the thread was heading down Sarcasm Lane but then it became clear it had detoured to Serious Drive. Clearly I was just zipping down my own little offramp... :p

I thought I was the only serious person for the most part. I was like "whoops...I took the thread seriously."

:p

No kidding, the Saints win over the Falcons in that first game back was complete nonsense.

C) Not really a conspiracy theory, but I always thought the Eric Rudolph scenario was strange. Everything just seemed too convenient.

Oddly, I was thinking about this last weekend. My husband and I were talking about speeding tickets and he got one from Richard Jewell at one point. That lead to taking about the Olympic Centennial bombing, and then I was thinking, okay, he bombed abortion clinics and he bombed gay or lesbian bars, I guess because he was a religious nut; Why'd he bomb the park at the Olympics again?

Or there's so much out there constantly that it's really hard to tell what will materialize into a real threat. That may be what you meant by not listening to the right people, but I wasn't sure.

I think it's really hard to tell who is crying wolf, who simply wants to seem like a player but is actually a wannabe (some of the Americans arrested in terrorists plots since 9-11 might be in this group), what's just crazy ranting, and what's really going to go down. I'm kind of amazed we ever have good intelligence.

I mean, I'm not educated enough on the situation to really cast any doubt on it, I just always thought it was bizarre. We have no clue who did it...well, now we know who did it, but it just so happens he's a survivalist...

I was actually kind of reminded of it when watching that movie "Shooter."

But seriously people, I'm not crazy, I just think how it went down was odd.

Oh, I don't think there was a conspiracy either but the whole thing never really came together in a way that made any sense. (And the brother cutting off his hand on tape, remember that weirdness?) I'm sure there's a book that I want no part of that could explain the whole thing.

I think that we may have had the knowledge at some level but the intelligence services were so competitive instead of cooperative that that information never would have gotten passed along. I'm not saying that Bush knew and didn't say a word.
