Thanks for all your advice!!!! I'll keep you posted on how it goes - hopefully I'll have good news to report back to you in the next few days!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Wish me luck! |
I have curly hair too, and it's pretty thick. I wash my hair every other day and straighten it pretty much every time I wash it with a blowdryer and iron. I had really pretty, straight hair when I was younger but around age 12-13 it frizzed and curled and generally became a mess.
I really don't know how to leave it curly so I just straighten it! But I am absolutely a pro at straightening. I've gotten it chemically straightened by a Korean stylist who was recommended by my piano teacher/good friend and it's maybe the best thing I ever did for my hair. The night before I was terrified that it would irreversibly damage my hair or that I'd go bald (in high school you hear all sorts of these things) but oh my god...I got it done and it was so soft and so miraculously straight! It lasted for three glorious months and I'm getting ready to schedule another appointment for a couple weeks before school starts http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Anyways just thought I'd share a hair success story. |
Ahhh!!!!
So I finally got a soft perm, and while it looks really nice, my hair is as dry as STRAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!! My stylist kept on commenting on how my hair was so dry, due to being overprocessed (I swim, plus I've dyed my hair countless times!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif ), so she used a really gentle perm. Still, my hair feels like straw! What should i do?! Does anyone have any creams/leave-in conditioners that they can recommend to me??? I bought Sebastian Potion number 9 from a beauty employee's suggestion (that is a very popular product), but even that isn't working for me!!!! I think the stronger the product, the better - my hair feels like it's gonna break soon! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif Thank you for any help that you can give to me - I will appreciate it so much!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |

HELP please! Thanks!!! |
Whenever my hair is extra-dry, I condition it with plain old olive oil. Just wet your hair and coat it with olive oil, let it sit for like 20 minutes, then wash and condition as usual. Also, since your hair is curly now (congrats http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif ), try not to wash it everyday ( thats hard if you swim) just wet it and condition it but don't shampoo. That helps a lot with the dryness. Oh and I used to leave a little conditioner (regular not leave-in) in my hair but I find that if I use my SS Loosely Defined on top of conditioner, its too much and my hair gets all dull and waxy-feeling. Well thats it for my dryness tipsZ http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Good Luck!
