Many of the campers and mobile homes that FEMA purchased to house displaced residents are being ruled unfit for habitation. Recent studies have shown that these units are emitting many times more than the safe amount of certain chemicals, such as formaldehyde for example. Studies are now linking the health problems residents of FEMA units are experiencing to the exposure. This problem could have the potential to cause future litigation over the matter.
In addition, I remember reading somewhere that many of the FEMA mobile housing units were never occupied.
