Dang, you must be in the wrong area cuz I gotta admit I've seen some cuties (with mad swagger) around the way....not all, but quite a few....now if they are interested in the "team" I play on is a whole nother story....:p

Oh I'm sure they are out there. :D Don't need my approval.

I also lied, I've seen about 4 smooth and handsome Kappas throughout the years and in the cities and states I've visited or lived in. Nothing that ever made me think "wow, the Krappas are some smooth and FINE men," though. :)

But if we want to talk about being hardworking and intelligent, I can co-sign that for the most part. :)

Are you posting that photo to explain why you chose Kappa?

"I wanted to wear red berets and blazers."

Na, I'm just kidding. I saw them at the talent show and they had the suspenders and the bowties and they started shimmying and the ladies were throwing money and . . . Female para on the stage and screaming like "they were at a Marvin Gaye" concert"...

And MAN I wanted to twirl.

Oh, and there were members of other organizations.. Let me say that they were a bit too "Carl Lewis" for me..

smh, neos...:rolleyes::)

I know you're joking but stuff like this is always going to be subjectively based on what you're used to.

<---has never seen a smooth Kappa. Rarely even sees handsome Kappas.

lol.

Seriously. This is the thing that kills me. It's hilarious at the same time, but I'll be the 1st to ask, where did this Pretty, handsome, good looking, whatever, whatever image come from? I know it didn't come from our Founding Fathers. I know EWD or any of the Founders didn't say "Oh yeah, and we're going to be known as Pretty Boys too, and handsome jokers". lol. Does anyone know why this is? Seriously.

It's sad when I hear people say ":eek:Damn, he's a Kappa? He's hit, he doesn't look like a Kappa." And yes I've heard people say that about some of the Nupes when I was in undergrad. We're about Achievement. Where did the player, good looking image come from?

And smooth??? Hell, I'm far from smooth. I'm slew footed and quite clumsy, and extremely shy, especially around women. I also wear glasses. I guess I must look awkward wearing my fraternity jacket then.

So again where did this smooth thing come from? lol. I'm over here laughing, but I'm asking a serious question here.

My sentiments, exactly. :) These "stereotypes" are pushed by members and nonmembers and I'm usually like ":rolleyes:" when I see men and women who believe some of the superficial hype surrounding their organizations.

It's funny because I can understand why people would say "he's a Kappa?" when they see hideous or corny dudes living high on the reputation of smooth pretty boy. :) You know there are dudes who wouldn't get any play if they didn't have letters to ride on (and that doesn't just apply to Kappas, of course).

The pretty boy image was prevalent at my school when I pledged. It seemed all the "light-skinned, curly hair, 'cute'" guys pledged Kappa. They didn't call themselves pretty boys, but their actions were such. And since they were one of the three NPHC groups that had a campus house, their reputation was for partying and seducing the most ladies.

I wonder if the pretty boy name coincided with the AKAs becoming known as the pretty girls?

So it was like that back then too huh? I just can't figure out where it all came from. It had to have started somewhere.

btw: I still think there's another PB troll above this post.
