I think it's dumb to try to carry something aboard an aircraft that makes the security people think it's a bomb. Clearly, this wasn't your standard laptop. |

Were there explosives or what looked like explosives attached? No. If it was a bomb, what are the chances it would be uncovered without a casing as well? Basically it looked nothing like a bomb. Just like a laptop. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._time_bomb.jpg. That looks like a bomb. -Rudey |

whew....I am so relieved....that bomb explains all of every last bomb that has been detonated since the first bomb went off ever... ...my God can he get any dumber?..or is it more dumb...it's 12:30 am.... |
Rudey. You're an idiot.

I'd rather have security err on the side of caution than not look properly and get us all blown up. Just a personal opinion.

Did she intend for the circuit board to resemble a bomb? Did she intend to rankle security? If so, she ought to face serious consequences.
Security in this day and age is not something to be joked about or played with. It is a fact of life and a necessity. 6 years ago, about 3,000 people would tend to have agreed that airport security is not a worthy target for a prank. Whether she's an eccentric or not, she ought to be hit hard for this. |

If she set out to "prank" security into thinking she was carrying a bomb or bomb components (several people could theoretically carry components onto a plane and assemble them in-air), that seems to make out a case for the crime. I'm sure the FBI/FAA or whoever investigates this will come forward with more facts or some actual charges. In the meantime, based on what little we know, I'm satisfied with the current state of affairs. |
for those that missed it the last time
here is the consequences that could happen upon those that even THINK they want to tell security they have a bomb on them in an airport back in 2005 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4508432.stm |
Don't tell air marshals that the backpack you're carrying is a bomb.
