I've never heard of such a thing. Don't worry about this.

Also, that was at Alabama.

So no internet last night, plus I was super tired. I just came home, ate some more food, and fell asleep. I went to Roger and Jemmy, which I was initially pretty disappointed about, because I had some really good conversations at Marsaili until the day before. I really liked them and hoped that enough people would stick up for me, despite one terrible conversation.

Roger: This is it. I know it. Without a doubt. I love it more and more every day, and I have since day 1. I was preffed by a friend, which was awesome, because she could really be honest with me.

Jemmy: It was still ok. Nothing to rave about. It was just too relaxed. When all the other houses buzzed like beehives, it was fairly quiet in here. While they are great, I just really do not see myself here, brushing my teeth next to these ladies.

So, surprise surprise, I did 1. Roger 2. Jemmy. I didn't suicide, even though I contemplated it for a minute or two. I am just keeping my fingers crossed until bid night.

Great thread - best of luck to you!!

Good luck! Keeping fingers crossed for Roger.

That said...if you do get Jemmy, please give it a shot with an open mind. You'll already have the bid and be committed to them for a year. You'll already have "taken the spot" from someone else. At that point, you have absolutely nothing to lose by attending Bid Day and getting to know the pledge class and also the non-rush side of the chapter members. (Don't initiate, of course, if you're "not feeling it" by then. But if you get a bid, make sure you give it a fair shot!)

Good luck again. :)

Bid Day was today! Hope you're having fun!

violetpretty 08-31-2007 12:00 AM

Hopefully the reason she hasn't posted yet is because she is out having fun with her new sisters, whichever group they are!

psprincess 08-31-2007 05:36 AM

multiple reasons for not posting until 2:30. i JUST fixed my internet, after 24 hours of agony. and i was out.

so today was bid day and I actually had class during it. my recruitment counselor called me and gave me the good news right before class started. I am now a happy new member of

ALPHA OMICRON PI!!! (aka Roger.)

so all went well, and I am super happy with the way things turned out!

AOII Angel 08-31-2007 05:39 AM

Let me be the first to welcome you, sister! Congratulations!
You'll love it!!! I'm so happy to finally have an AOII recruitment story!!!

What school are you at? Berkley?!
