Your campus will not be able to court any other NPC group until the NPC Extension Chairwoman has received an official letter from the Proper Authority. Since your campus doesn’t have a specific College Panhellenic Council, the Proper Authority maybe either your school’s Greek Advisor or maybe the Dean of Students. It just depends on the hierarchy of your school’s administration. Basically, when an NPC member evaluates a campus, there are a few things for which they look. A growing Greek System, support from the administration and students, and the support of area alumnae are just the tip of the iceberg. Good luck to your campus! Expansion can be a very exciting experience. |

When a new organization comes on campus it affects the entire Greek community, not just the local IFC or PC. Sometimes the local Panhellenic is unfair and votes for an NPC that is weaker nationally and may not do as well on their campus in order to limit competition, and that's not very "Panhellenic" is it? |

This makes no sense. If Panhellenic doesn't want competition, they don't have to vote for expansion. And no NPC group is going to go on a campus where the majority of NPC groups do NOT want expansion. I feel pretty secure in saying that - it is WAY too much time and money to establish a chapter if you don't have at least the nominal support of other NPCs. And wear the Earpus banner with pride. Do you like gooey buns? |

ETA: Just joined? Lol yeah, okay, because being a member of your organization for a year+ is "just joined." |

I see we have somehow hijacked red's TX Tech thread but so be it.... UW Stevens Point does not have a Panhellenic - they have 1 NPC group DPhiE which is about 20-25 members tops. While the fraternity man Langox510x has been posting in ZTA and Theta Phi Alpha's GC forums, the National Panhellenic Conference Extension Director has been advised of this potential situation on this campus about a month ago and has notified university that the IGC is not the proper authority to decide to bring on another group. Theta Phi Alpha had inquired about school and after a call with myself and our ED and NPC, they withdrew their interest. As for TKEguy, I will let him slide - he is just not knowledgeable about this and several of you have already set that record straight. If fraternity men could deal with their own issues, it would be appreciated. NPC groups do things very differently. |
