Oh and don't forget in AOII we never write our letters AOPi. From the AOII PR Manual: ΑΟΠ or AOII: Use the Greek letter (Π) or two capital “I”s (i.e. II) to form the Pi, but never two capital “T”s (i.e. TT). It is also unacceptable to use AOPi, unless it is used in parentheses for pronunciation. |

By the way, I had to think about the "7" for a second! I like that A LOT! |
Warning - rant below
Sisters,
I have tried since this thread began to think of a polite and discreet way to say what I am about to say. Please remember that this is a public forum, many people read this who are not AOIIs. Sometimes when you are posting the AOII related things that sisters might have had tatooed on themselves, don't forget that you are "talking out loud", not just to sisters. Please PM me if there are questions about my post. Thank you. |
I saw a tattoo on a older lady's back. It was unfortunate, to say the least. Too bad there isn't a way to have the tattoo hold it's original design. It was sort of sad.

Tattoo's
I actually have two tattoos myself, neither of which are AOII related, although I did and still am considering getting the heart, anchor & cross sometime later..probably on my ribs on my left side so it's easy to hide. I have a cross with the serenity prayer written on the inside of the cross on my right ribs now. The way I see it is, if it means something to you, and after you have kids, or when you're 70 years old, the chances of anyone besides your husband, (maybe children) and any health-care people such as nurses or doctors seeing it, is very slim, so I'm not worried about how it will look when I'm older as it will still have the same meaning to me. Granted my first one, on my foot was impulsive but the quote (C'est La Vie) still means something to me as I have referred to it numerous times since I've gotten it. After telling my Dad who ultimately hates tattoo's, he's come around to the fact that I have this huge one on my side as it means something to me and it's something I can refer to in times of need.
To most people, tattoos are a form of self-expression. I personally would never just go to a tattoo shop and just pick one out from the albums. I designed my first one myself, and I found my my second one on a necklace charm, and the prayer just means a lot to me. I say, if it means something to you, and will always mean something to you, go for it. :] |
