Okay - so I'm not a hockey fan - I've experienced it, and know a little about it, but I would have to say from these responses that it is like baseball here in the US (well for those of us who are die hard baseball fans, anyway) -- so here's my deal... I love the Atlanta Braves - always have (like the song says "She's always been a Braves fan, even through the rotten years"). I know line-ups and stats and who's who and trades and all the other vital info that a die hard baseball fan knows(I'm loosening up a little now, but still pretty on top of things) - and when the Braves didn't even bother to show up for a *certain* play-off series, I was crushed. Literally - Bobby Cox and I had many many many heart to heart talks (even if he was on the tv, I know he could hear "me" - the Braves #1 fan)! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif So anyway - even through all that drama, I am thinking - you know what, AXO Alum, you are a receptionist - and no matter if the Braves won or lost, won by 1 run, or lost by 19, you are still a receptionist, and your job will STILL be waiting for you in the morning. So here I am...still a receptionist...still with a job...still with a life...and still loving my fellow GC'ers http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Just some food for thought!

Okay, that my friend is a problem -- to know that a game (yes a game that you are not even involved in personally) has taken over your life, that is a real problem. I am not trying to sound condescending here, but being the psych undergrad, I learned a lot about becoming obsessive over things that truly really don't matter in life. A friend or loved one has a major illness or trauma (God forbid)....yes, that is serious....you are expected to be worried about that and to do anything you can to help them out. But a team loses a game/games? It is not the end of the world -- put things into perspective. Your grades should not suffer because you have been too wrapped up in a hockey game. I am really hoping that since you obviously realize this is a problem, that you will do something healthy to change it. Study hard and I wish you good luck!

Yeah I know, it's not that. This series has killed my studying. I've falled behind on my essays because I couldn't concentrate. This best thing to do is forget about and work on getting my exams done. If i don't get this done soon i'll be doing the all-nighters again http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif
The best thing for me is to forget about this fiasco which is difficult because i'll be tempted to read the posts in this thread if I come back to GC. Once I'm in the clear I'll start posting again.
Good Luck with New Jersey.

Well I guess it is up to the Leafs to bring the cup back home. I'm just baffled at how well LA is doing: I mean when Potvin played for us (Canucks), he was as about as useful as a screen door on a submarine, now look at him, he's a bloody brick wall. Oh well.

gphi2k--

Did you happen to see the Leafs/Flyers game near the end of the season where the idiot jumped at Domi in the penalty box? That happened in my lovely city of Philadelphia. It was hysterical!!

LOL.
no, i guess i missed that one. but domi is our resident $hit disturber. a leafs game isn't a leafs game without domi starting or provoaking a fight. not sure of the circumstances behind the story in philli, but i'm sure domi kicked the crap outta that guy when he jumped him.

i'm scared for this upcoming series. Jersey is a great team. granted, we didn't think we'd make is past the sens....
