She was a phenomenal cook and never owned a cookbook! I just took my daughter to visit UNL and we stayed with my parents where we were fed a "yabba dabba do" steak, baked potatoes and.....creamed peas. It's not everyday we fly to anyplace with 5 inches of snow on the ground with no skiing in sight, so it was definitely a party!

(:( She is not going to UNL, she got into her first choice....so now I have no chance of having a Kappa daughter :( )

Ha, that's how Grandma S.'s recipe is. MIL once asked and got a "glug" of cream as a measurement. Exactly how much is a "glug"?

We had pretty much everything I listed, except the second vegetable salad, and that was only because the one Grandma who attended had already made the jello salad.

That Watergate Salad sounds wretched.

Easter lunch with the boy was amazing! I grilled chicken and apple sausage with fresh garlic and cayenne pepper. Then, I made a pasta with fresh tomatoes and fresh parsley, with Parmesan cheese to boot. Homemade apple pie a la mode for dessert. If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, I may be halfway there yet. :)
