Dreamz is very SHIFTY and Cassandra was wise to get a "read" on Dreamz, based on his eyes. In other news, I want Yau-Man to cozy up to someone from the Four Horseman and pretend that the other idol hasn't been found yet, only so that someone can dig up the fake idol with "I.I." painted on it, on camera, believe it, and look dumb....ha ha ha ha........

I look forward to seeing Edgardo cleaned up and looking pretty on the jury, but I have to say, the "disappearing smiles" were priceless. Mookie was DUMB to give up the idol. DUH!!!

I have a feeling that Yau Man might finish in "third" because no one would want to go against him in the Final Two (I think he would win based on that). I think he's too popular because he hasn't really double-crossed anyone or p!ssed anyone off just yet.

I didn't think about it much at the time, but Jeff said that the Idol would be re-hidden and new clues would be at Exile Island. How do they hide a new one with all the people hanging out at the camp?? They won't notice freshly disturbed dirt? I gues sthey dould do it while they are all at a challenge, but it seems like they might notice that an area has been disturbed.

LeslieAGD 04-21-2007 09:04 AM

Dee, maybe they will bury the Idol on Exile Island instead of at camp like they used to do.
Otherwise, the crew can bury it at camp during an endurance challenge that will take a few hours.

Also, did the others see what the Idol looked like when Alex presented it to Jeff?

polarpi 04-21-2007 11:41 AM

i'm pretty sure it was a turtle-shaped "figurine" (for lack of a better word) :p

i figured it'd be hidden on exile island, as well - i'm curious as to whether or not the other castaways (besides those who know Yau-Man has the immunity idol) KNOW that there is a second one

ZTABullwinkle 04-21-2007 05:47 PM

Didn't next week's sneak peek show that the other group knows that Yau-man has the immunity idol?

CutiePie2000 04-21-2007 06:17 PM

What does Yau-Man's (real) immunity idol look like? Is it also a flattened turtle on a string?

I think maybe Alex goes snooping in Yau-Man's bag and discovers it in there, if I remember the "next week on Survivor" scenes accurately.

LeslieAGD 04-21-2007 10:43 PM

Polarpi, I know what the Idol looks like...but I wasn't sure if everyone else (besides Yau, Earl, Mookie, Alex, and Dreamz) know.

Did the commercial show Alex stealing Yau's Idol, or simply seeing that he had it?

KDAngel 04-22-2007 02:54 AM

I think he just saw that Yau had it. I'm totally bummed about that too. I don't know exactly what they plan on doing with that, but I know it won't go well. It is interesting to hear that they're going to bury the other idol again though...

While I know the premise of the show is to "Out" do everyone, if I was on the panel and someone was in the final two because they stole something I just could not vote them.

I agree with the other poster, if someone does have the idol, the production side of show should "guard" it somehow.

It showed him "discovering" it, but it didn't show him stealing it. I guess we'll find out next episode.

If he was SMART, he would steal it and not tell anyone about it. But people can't keep news to themselves for long on SURVIVOR....oy....

There are production people around 24/7.
Now, just what would happen if there was a theft of any kind? Or any other kind of rule or even "law" breaking? We do not know as viewers at what point TPTB would or have to step in.

As we have seen in the past, even for medical reasons, they take baby steps.

And for them to act as if either nothing happened or that they did not know would damage their money maker.

And, IMHO, for Jeff to say weeeel it happened but.....would be just as bad.

Of course there are camera crew around 24//7, but I am sure that they are instructed NOT to divulge to other survivors what they have seen or filmed, as this would influence the outcome.

I don't think that stealing an idol out of someone's bag, would be rule breaking, otherwise, why would people "hide" their immunity idol (like Mookie did, under a rock, or hide it in his pocket)? The "dug up and found" idol can be passed around, so I don't think it matters whether it was given willingly, a la Mookie, or "stolen" from another player. I also remember in the Pearl Islands, when Rupert stole everyone's shoes in that little Panamanian Village. It was filmed on camera and Rupert finished that season and appeared again on All-Stars AND won the "most popular" player award, or whatever it was. (eta: it would dirty to steal someone's eyeglasses or something like that, but I think to steal an Idol...well, it can argued that it's technically CBS's property...blah blah blah blah).

I think the only idol that cannot be "stolen" from someone, is the idol that you win in the individual immunity challenges (because everyone knows that you won it, fair and square). For the other idols, I would say, whoever has possession of it (whether found or stolen) is the one who has the immunity of it. And let's face it, it makes for better television if the idol was stolen from a bag, and then all the intrigue and drama that would follow thereafter. It's all about TEH RATINGS.

Someone go Google the rules...I know that the rules were discussed for TAR in the TAR thread.

What I am bringing up is that we, as viewers, do not know just where "The Rubicon Bridge" is for the production staff and crew.

This show, as much of it as I have seen over the years, is not Lord of the Flies or King Rat.

And I am not convinced at all that Jeff does not know everything that goes on.

CutiePie2000 05-05-2007 11:50 PM

That "eating challenge" where they had to tear off pieces of pork with their teeth was in poor taste, I thought. They looked like a bunch of ravenous, "Lord of the Flies-esque" animals and it was rather demeaming, IMO.
