Program subjects
Does anyone think that there'd be interest in a program/session on greekchat and/or internet resources?[/QUOTE]
ABSOLUTELY! Yes, please, please, please! Everything is on/about the Internet. Related, I'm hoping my program gets accepted too -- marketing. If we both get in, let's coordinate! |
I think it would be good for both Alum and actives to know about GreekChat and other online site.

Convention
I'm in - how do we coordinate this? You can email me at axidalum @ sbcglobal. net (Spaces are just so spammer's don't pick that up). I'm VERY happy to coordiate.
Look forward to seeing you all! I'm also interested in just general vision setting, brainstorming, esp. in regards to alums. Thanks! |
It was fun to meet everyone in Arizona....I'm game to meet again!

Errrrrm....
I never got a packet of info about convention (and, yes, I paid/registered). You know, the dress code, what to expect, etc. I know I got one when I went 2 years ago as my first time, but I didnt get one this time. Do they only send it to first time attendees? I really could use a refresher of what kinds of clothes are appropriate and when....and what else to expect. |
MMMM ... you're right .. I haven't gotten one either and I've gotten one for every other convention I've been to ... including a form with travel plans to fill out and send back ...
maybe this year its all electronic and the only thing we're getting is the convention update we got on May 15. |
Ok .. have we ever come to a consensus of when we want to meet at convention?
Wed. night before dinner Wed. night after dinner Someother time?? If we can decide .. I'll post on the beginning post and add it as an event on the inCircle calendar |
I say wed before dinner
|
I have another obligation at that time but I am sure that I'll see you all at some point that night.

Lunchbox
Ladies, Think back to the Florida Convention 4 years ago. We got these neat bright blue lunchboxes with yellow letters on them with the Conversation Cafe luncheon. Mine was stolen from the school refrigerator. If you still have yours, and don't use it, I would LOVE to buy it from you. I used mine every day to take my lunch to school until it was stolen.
Thanks! |

My First Day at Convention
My plane arrives an hour late in Indianapolis. It is 6 pm before I get to the hotel, and the welcome dinner starts at 6, so I am in a hurry. I check in, rush through the shower. Then I change into a cute dress...makeup, hair, jewelry, excruciatingly high heels.....and head off to the 3rd floor. I was hoping I would be there in time to eat. You know how these dinners sometimes go. Everyone finds a seat...introductions and welcome, bread, salad....lots of conversation...it can be a good 45 minutes before they actually serve food. I look in every banquet room. I was too late for registration, so I don't have my packet telling me the room numbers, and I keep checking banquet rooms.....every single one..... Finally I go to the front desk. They look it up. Sure enough, the banquet starts at 6, and is on the 3rd floor.... TOMORROW NIGHT. Yes folks, you got it. I arrived a day early. I am all dressed up, starving, and have no idea what I want to do. I ask the nice people at the front desk, and they recommend the restaurant on the top floor (of course)- Look at my photos when you get a chance. It is one of those revolving restaurants. Service is excellent. Food is fantastic. I took a lot of pictures, and enjoyed my meal while reading Cryptonomicon.
I had great conversation with the guy sitting on my right on the airplane. Turns out that he and his wife live in Indy, and his wife was an Alpha Xi at IU!! So we talk for the next hour about sorority, his children and our jobs. He is going to tell his wife that Convention is this week and encourage her to come to some of the events. He gave me his card so I can email the details to him. So, in spite of arriving so early, I had a great day!! |
