You'd think. But my point was not everyone gets that. They see Greek letters and think everything is the same kind of group, be it social, service, professional or honorary. I'm hoping Lafayette's Greek advisor and admin are a little brighter than the GAs at some of the surrounding schools.

There are APO members who don't get that they aren't the same as everyone else. So I can understand why others would be confused, as well.

This girl was upset because the pledges were "forced to sleep at the sorority house"...

At least they got to sleep. That's better then a few group's pledges on my college's campus can claim...:p

ROFL.

The KDR boys at Laf are some of the best individuals on that campus.

I would put money on it that if someone was interested enough in reinstating APO on the campus, no one would oppose it, especially not the administrators.

Update: Pi Beta Phi HQ Puts Lafayette Chapter on Probation

http://www.nj.com/news/expresstimes/...830.xml&coll=2

Excerpt from October 12 '06 article:

[Pi Beta Phi's chapter at Lafayette] has been placed on probation by its national council, according to a news release from the sorority president.

"Hazing is illegal and will not be tolerated," Pi Beta Phi Fraternity President Emily Tarr said in a news release. "The chapter has been placed on probation, which provides them with the highest level of fraternity support.

Diane Balogh, director of communications for the sorority headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., said she could not release details of the alleged hazing incident.

"There are requirements that this chapter will need to fulfill to get back in good standing," she said. "But I can't talk about what those are without going into details. We're working with the college so we know what we need to do to get into compliance."

"As far as the probation and what that means, it's really tailored to the individual chapter. I can't go into that because it is an internal matter," she said. "What I can tell you is that our highest members, the members of our grand council, will be working one on one with the chapter to resolve these issues."

Balogh added that Lafayette could place sanctions on the sorority, but a college spokesman was unavailable for comment Wednesday. . . .
