It wasn't a mistake. You asked for opinions and you got them. Your AI subplot is silly. What is the rest of the book about? Maybe you could beef up those parts.

Typical chicklit sillyness. Finding oneself/friend issues/man issues/parent issues.

greekalum 09-29-2006 05:28 PM

Again, is this book with a publisher already?

Stick to that and leave the AI part out. Even if it is fiction, some readers like to feel that it could be them and how they would handle the situation. AI, in any form, much less self-recommendation, isn't a vaild option for most women.

Like I said earlier, too late.

aopirose 09-29-2006 05:43 PM

So what's the name of your book?

greekalum 09-29-2006 05:43 PM

So when can we purchase this?

That's an unflattering way to refer to something you've written. Anyway, does the world need more typical chick lit?

adpiucf 09-29-2006 05:58 PM

What world needs now
Is Lit
ChickLit

It's the only thing
That there's just too little of....

Taualumna 09-29-2006 05:59 PM

I will not say much until everything is officially announced.

greekalum 09-29-2006 06:01 PM

I'll be checking Publisher's Weekly eagerly.

C, I really hate to say this, but I wish you thought of that before starting this thread.

I agree. Nothing personal Taualumna but I wouldnt buy it/read it. I wouldnt read it not because I think it isnt a good idea for a book, but I just dont see how it would make for an exciting plot.

I'm sure your experience was exciting to you, but for me, I dont really consider the AI stories here that appealing to read much less reading about one in a book. I dont mean to offend.
