I am not a pi phi, but I am going thru informal rush here at Univeristy of Arkansas Little Rock, and the pi phis are the nicest and most diverse group on campus. I have heard from faculty and students alike that they are a classy bunch. They are a lot of fun to be around and God willing, I hope I get a bid from them. On both national and local levels, they seem to be wonderful!

I am a pi phi pledge, and at Northwestern, I would say that we are the laid-back house, full of chill girls who you can really be yourself around. Most of the fraternities like us a lot (except maybe one, which is obsessed with KKG)
The weird thing is that we have kind of a rivalry with KKG. A lot of girls pref both houses, and it can be a big deal with who gets who. |
I'm not a pi phi, but...
I'm a Sigma Nu at Knox college(right near Monmouth), and we have Pi Phi's and Tri-delts here. I've been here for four years, and when I got here, the Pi Phi chapter was not as strong(in numbers) as the tri-delt chapter, and was seen as not as friendly as could be. I'm happy to say, that its turning around in many cases. The Pi Phi's have had great rushes the last two years, and are full of great people, and are a wonderful chapter. On top of all that, one of my brothers is engaged to a Pi Phi here.
I wish you all the best of luck in the upcomming years. LTH, Delta Theta 1150, M. |
Pi Phi at UF is great. We're involved with everything. I've heard us referred to as "an untapped resource" by one of the "top" fraternities. I say it's better we be untapped than tapped. Everyone we meet (we're at every frat party and every "normal" party) tells us that we're surprisingly down-to-earth, fun, and true party girls. One of my frat boy friends asked me where I was going one night and I told him I was going out with a bunch of my sisters and also a bunch of guys from a certain fraternity, and he looked at me incredulously and said, "You Pi Phis are amazing. You never discriminate--you party with everyone." And we do--no other sorority I can think of ever has a bigger number of girls out than we do. But other than what people tell us (they can tell you anything they want, it's easy to say, "Oh, your house is so great!") I can truly say my sisters are wonderful. They break every bad sorority girl stereotype. They're smart, worldly, beautiful, fun, and classy. I love my chapter and think it's perfect.
But if you want more than opinions: *we meet quota every year *we always end up in the top three in the biggest fraternity philanthropy, Sigma Chi's Derby Days *we had one of the biggest groups of girls for Dance Marathon *we have the most popular and successful sorority philanthropy (how can you go wrong with fraternity boys and football???) *we have the newest, I believe largest, and some say the most beautiful sorority house, which just so happens to be the only sorority house on Frat Row |
I happened to be visiting Edmonton, Alberta in about 1989, and was walking around campus. Back then, they had Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Phi and DG (AGD has since arrived, but they weren't there then).
Anyhow, I was so curious to see the U of A sorority houses and I am pleased to say that the Pi Phi's were so nice to me (being that I was a total stranger) when I knocked on the door and asked for a tour. It was great! Theta was great too, but I already knew someone in the house, so I wasn't a complete stranger approaching them. And DG's gave me a tour as well, since I knew a number of DG's. I've also met Pi Phi's at U of Toronto who are friendly and down to earth as well. |
Hi everyone,
I'm one of the newly initiated members of Pi Beta Phi at the university of Guelph (just initiated this semester). Like Cherub said, Greek life isn't big on our campus, but we have a great chapter and I couldn't be prouder to be an Ontario Gamma Pi Phi. Pi Phi Love and Mine, Emily |
I am a Pi Phi at UC Davis. We have met quota every single rush, which is a hard feat here! I love my house, not only do we have top grades, we have great morale, and a great social scene! The sororities at Davis are really great houses, but overall, Pi Phi is the place to be here!

I am a Pi Phi at Hillsdale College in Michigan. We have a great reputation on campus and since Hillsdale is such a small school I think that says a lot. Our house is very diverse. We have girls that are involved in almost every single campus activity. Although each of us is individually unique we are all unified by the bonds of Pi Phi. I am so proud to be a Pi Phi! :)

I just wanted to bump this thread up because I think it's awesome to see all of the Pi Phi pride across the nation!

Good luck, UCLAgirl! You'll have to start a thread on the rush forum to let us know what's happening. We love to follow posters through rush. If you have questions, that's the place to ask them. No matter what chapter posters belong to, they give good, unbiased advice.

hey, i'm a pi phi at the virginia theta chapter at washington and lee university. i just registered, woo hoo!
we're known for being VERY smart (avg GPA: 3.5) and VERY active on campus... the administration loves us AND we're the most diverse and down-to-earth girls on campus. |
I'm a California Kappa in at UC San Diego! (Hey there pbpck...whoever that is?!) Out of our eight panhellenic sororities, we have always been in the top three. This is my fourth year here, and since I've been around we've always had the highest return rate during rush, ALWAYS filled our house, and never had more than a couple girls de-pledge (if any at all).
I thought it was funny that someone else on this message board said "everyone knows that you date kappas but marry pi phis.." because I've heard that around here too...the only problem is that no really practices what they preach ;) EVERYWHERE I go I meet another Pi Phi...they're absolutely everywhere! One was from Baylor Univ. in Texas (Hey Jacki!), and she was absolutely awesome...just for the record! I didn't join Pi Phi because they were the best, I joined because I was most comfortable with them...lucky me I picked the most amazing chapter on campus!!! |
Also not a Pi Phi, but I wanted to say that your ladies at UW-Madison are wonderful women, a close friend of mine is in the chapter there - and they have a GORGEOUS home on the lake. I'm also looking forward to getting to know some Marquette Pi Phis better, everytime I have been on campus I've seen them in letters!
