I hope all our chapters can keep up the great work! By the way, thanks to everyone who has submitted results so far.

Missing recruitment results for:
Mississippi State University
University of Kansas (finished today)
University of Kentucky (finished today)

If you have these results, please post or PM me.

Good luck to the University of Florida chapter -- they start recruitment today!

I'm sorry that the DGs are not a strong house at UGA, my daughter is in law school there so I'm not surprised. She is a member of another sorority and her house (when she was an undergrad, her house had 98 percent retrun) not Georgia, and they had them had come over to show them what they did for rush Before slamming me the house asked them if they could--another struggling DG house, but now their numbers are really up! It's nice to relate to a very panhellenic school

Hi Hally, your story about the chapters helping each other with rush techniques is great to hear!

As for UGA, I think you are only equating strength with numbers. They may not be the largest house on campus or have the most formal recruitment numbers, but it is very wrong to suggest that they do not have a strong sisterhood. This is a very close knit house with extremely strong support. I think their quarter million dollar house renovation going on now is proof of that.

Delta Iota, UGA

Thank you for your comments, Bluealum concerning the DG chapter at UGA. As a recent graduate, I can testify that Delta Iota is a very strong chapter. We are extremely active in groups across campus from student government to improv groups to the rugby team as well as with various philanthropy events. While the formal recruitment numbers may be lower than expected, the chapter is working hard to increase their numbers thus further strengthening our close sisterhood. To reiterate what Bluealum said, we must remember that quantity does not always indicate quality.

we must remember that quantity does not always indicate quality.

Dear sister,
This is true of course, but don't we all really wish that they had made quota? To say that quantity does not equal quality is slightly snide in the direction of those that did make quota. If another chapter were in their shoes, I think we'd feel slightly offended by that comment.

My own chapter at SC closed down when they were very small compared to the other chapters. Of course they were a great group, but reasons for such low turnout compared to other groups is cause for concern.

I think it's also important to remember that Delta Iota's formal recruitment numbers are up from last year, and those numbers are up from the year before, and those numbers are up from the year before... while people may be focusing on the fact that Delta Iota does not have 55 new members in Fall 2006, the fact is that the chapter is growing at a reasonable rate. I mean, if they pledged 55+ this year, that would be almost half of the chapter, wouldn't it? I think it's a smart idea to pledge a new member class of a manageable size that is full of quality girls, then add to it in spring with another class of quality girls. I feel confident that the chapter will make quota within a few years if they continue growing at the rate that they have been. :)

Did not DG ultimately pledge quota last year through COB and spring recruitment? I really like the idea of a small spring recruitment. You will find women who are thoughtfully going out for a sorority, and who probably have a better idea of what to expect and how to manage their time. And, of course, there are the women who are involved in other things on campus and can't participate in fall recruitment. Some of our best members come through COB!

Okay, I'm just nosey...but it's about a DG chapter...I know lot's of reasons a chapter would not participate in formal recruitment...but I do not know the specifics for UCF. Can someone PM me and let me know what's going on there...
