Here you pay $1 a square foot for an average apartment.
One would plan to pay $1.20 - $1.25 for an upscale or really new apartment community. Of course utilities would be extra |
I live in Fairfax, VA. My townhouse is 1,742 square feet, and we pay $1800 rent a month...which is a steal, considering that the owner is paying a $3200 a month mortgage. For this area, compared to all of my friends, my rent is ridiculously cheap for how big my house is. Thank god there is no renter's market right now! In my last house, my rent got lowered twice in the 6 months I lived there because our landlord was being fair to the other renters prices on our street.
It is crazy to think that a 3 bedroom townhouse has a listing price of $579, 900 though! As for utilities, it comes to about $200-$300 a month. |
