I do like the use of "old goat", though.
Rudey, my dad was trying to talk me into buying a Delorean. |
If girls make rude comments about Greeks, I ignore them. Seriously. If you know you aren't an "elitist snob who buys her friends", then what people say doesn't matter.

JocelynC is right. My best friend from high school told me that she thought sororities were cults. I told her that she shouldn't join one then. I also told her not to make any more comments like that in my presence or I would be forced to expound on my opinion of ignorant independents (and for those of you on this board who tend to be a little touchy, I am not suggesting that all independents are ignorant, but I am saying that *some* independents are ignorant about what greek life is really about). My friend is a quality girl. Greek life was not for her. And we are lucky enough to have a friendship where we can speak honestly, but I have never tried to change her opinion. Even if you tried to change the opinions of those girls in your class, there's probably another 500 girls at your school who feel the same way. So rise above. I know it's frustrating. But in the end, I always felt sorry for them - they never get to experience all the awesome things I experienced in college by going greek. Too bad for them.

And hey people, I have a question. If being a GLO member is the same as being a GDI, then why are you throwing your money away? Kddani, please don't harass alum. Thank you. -Rudey |

EBAY (yes, there is a song in my head that goes with this) Let me stand up for kddani. No one is harassing anyone. When people make elitist and snobby comments, we call them on the carpet. History has shown that we get no response tho. No defense, no clarity. |
Kill them with kindness.
If they speak out in class again about how horrible sororities and sorority girls are, kindly and rationally offer your opinion and tell them and the class what your experiences have been like. You don't have to try and change their minds, but don't let them speak for the rest of the class. |

Again I'd like to know why people pay to join a GLO when being a GDI is just as good. As for rare parts: You can't find everything on ebay. I'm sure after a while something might turn up but it's not like you can get it immediately. I would hate to have to wait a year for some sort of rare part to show up. I remember needing one small thing for a stupid laptop lcd that was very specific and i waited and waited until one guy had that laptop and was selling it in parts because something in it stopped working. It's a pain. Plus there is a pretty hefty premium and Deloreans aren't worth that premium. The creator of the Delorean has a hilarious criminal history if anyone wants to read it... -Rudey |
