And you were a POW when? Oh, right, never, just like you never went to Marquette.

I went to a major Big Ten Univ., graduating in four years.

I've never claimed to be affiliated with Marquette. That newspaper is a filty bunch of liars.

Let's debate:

McCain's torture amendment is great for America and the world. It's about time somebody on that side of the aisle started giving more than lip service to human dignity when it comes to non-fetal people.

Have you told them as much? And why did it take you so long to answer? Were you doing a Kerry impersonation with the medical records?

Are there Big Ten universities that AREN'T major?

That's pretty much insane, Kath.

No, I didn't say that. Don't extrapolate, Rob.

At least McCain really supports the troops, unlike another Senator who "served in Vietnam".

We agree - it has potential.

Anything else you want to debate?

Many of my Hoosier friends regard Purdue as only pretty good for an ag school.

Americans taken hostage by the terrorists will have their heads cut off and a video of it posted on the internet.

Giving terrorists "rights" gets us nothing.

Iraqi soldiers deny their prisoners "rights" and nobody cares. There are no sirens from mosques in Arab countries calling for the people to join the jihad. They only do it for Americans - the same Americans that they say defile Muslim holy lands simply by setting foot there.

We are not dealing with an organized Italian army that will save POWs to trade at the end of the war.

We also have proof of someone who provided details BECAUSE of torture and a terrorist act was stopped. I'm willing to accept a couple of naked guys on polaroids to save lives.

--But really, this thread isn't about the protest of torture or its justification.

OK, what were you saying? Because if it were a more subtle point, it was lost on lil' ol' me . . .

That McCain is qualified to speak on torture more than hoosier.

You mean the one who won The Silver Star and Purple Heart?

Were you there?

I was referring to the one who got a Purple Heart for being hit in the butt by a piece of shrapnel the size of a rice grain.

How much shrapnel have you been hit by?

Want to comment on the Silver Star, too? I believe that's our third highest award for bravery.

As for the Purple Heart, at least he was in battle. The medal has been given for less.

And what are your battle scars? What has your service been to the country?
