My first and only choice was Sigma Kappa. The woman collecting our cards gave me a look, and asked if I was sure, but I nodded and smiled at her.

I went through informal and LOVED AXO. I went to SK's parties to appease a friend of mine, an SK alum that I'd known for 4 years prior. At first I didn't feel a connection there at all, but I didn't get asked back to AXO so I quickly put feelers around for COB with the other sororities. SK got back to me straightaway, and actually delivered my bid to the Greek life office before we went out and got coffee. They REALLY wanted me apparently. I got that bid in time for bid night which was awesome!
At least now I know for sure I ended up in the right house. None of the other chapters would have fit me.

I just love how this thread only has 33 posts, but like 2000 views! :eek:

ehh I don't think so. It's clearly in our forum. I think they just are jealous of us and want to know if we might have possibly been their sisters. lol!

um scary weird.
I prefed Sigma K and DG. We are only allowed to attend two pref parties. My pref choices were SK and ADPi, however, our computer system was messed up and also, the greek advisor did not like sigma kappa (she was recently fired) and messed up many girl's preferences.
however, I've known since the 11th grade I knew I wanted Sigma kappa. I chose my school apps based on who had a chapter.

That is a classic way to choose a college. Of course, I'm not one to throw stones because I chose my alma mater just because I was too lazy to move out of my mom's house and the drive was a few minutes away. ;) Then I moved into the sorority house which was further than my mom's house but I made friends & memories I wouldn't trade for the world.

I prefed AXO and Gamma Phi but I wasn't sure about AXO and I absolutely adored GPhi all through formal so I suicided and didn't get a bid but then I went through informal and ended up a Sigma Kappa. Funny thing is another girl I knew who lives 2 floors above me was in love with GPhi also but ended up in SK. I talked to her like the day after bid day and she was devestated but now she loves it and I think it worked out well for both of us.

i preffed ADPi and Sigma Kappa. after that i listed adpi as my number 1 and sk my number 2. i wanted to be adpi soo bad. when i opened my bid card i cried when i saw sigma kappa's letters at the top. i almost didnt even go to the bid day party. but i did go. and thank the holy heaven's i did. i have never been so happy to not get my way! i love my sisters more than anything!:)

That makes three of us with ADPi and DG. :)

I guess now that I've graduated I can post here without feeling like a jack@$$.

I didn't really intend on going through formal recruitment and I really didn't know a damn thing about it when I went. I missed the second day (house tours) because I had to be home for something (that I can't even remember). I don't dress girly ... I showed up to most of the days in jeans and a tshirt (which I'm sure made a lot of chapters dislike me). So ... I was only asked back to Sigma Kappa for pref, but I loved it there.

Our ABC tells me she remember when I preffed and says she was almost positive I wasn't going to come back ... guess when I observe too hard I look disinterested ... oops.

:shrugs: So in the end I ended up in a sorority ... and I love rocking my lavender and maroon letters :)
