I know we'd definitely be interested as well!

SigPhiSunshine 02-07-2008 05:11 AM

any info yet about the 08 convention?

OmegaPDPrez 02-07-2008 01:37 PM

i wonder who would be put in charge of hosting the convention

ZetaXiDelta 02-12-2008 08:00 PM

What if we all discussed it and planned it?

SigPhiSunshine 02-13-2008 02:23 AM

sounds fine to me, but i dont want to step on anyones toes. im not sure if there is someone who is already planning. i know last years was in new york or something like that, did anyone go last year? we couldnt make it, we had retreat the same weekend

OmegaPDPrez 02-13-2008 10:58 AM

well i wouldnt mind it being here in Philly.... our convention center is nice:D i guess step one would be to decide who would host it and then when, and what city. I figure it would probably be in the summer, when classes and graduation are over, but ive never been to one before.

Does anyone know where the 2008 Local Sorority Convention is going to be?

well, if someone is planning it, they need to come out of the wood work and atleast tell people it's being planned :)

OmegaPDPrez 02-20-2008 01:18 PM

i dont think anyone is planning it. Which means someone who wants to and thinks they could do it should volunteer....

AlethiaSi 02-20-2008 01:43 PM

My problem is that I could plan a convention, but I don't have the monetary resources to book a room and all that comes with it, and even if I was active, my organization does not have the resources either.
I have never attended the convention (and therefore not sure how they run, who is invited (i'd assume everyone that's local, but even accessing those resources would take time and have to be comprehensive), but I've planned many events before, so if someone has more information and an idea of how we'd come up with the funds, i'm all for it

:)

ive never been to a convention myself but i figure it would be something each group paid for individually? And all the locals would just come together to meet one another, share advice on recruitment and such.... I would think the only thing a collective payment that would be needed would be for the hall or room we would all meet in... And then of course there would be things for all of us to do with one another... i dont know what im saying

Bella9285 02-20-2008 02:58 PM

My sorority went to the one in cleveland and i think we paid about $150 for the group to be able to come. All the sessions were held on the schools campus, some of the girls stayed int he dorms. I know we stayed in a hotel that we payed for ourselves.
