we're recolonizing ZETA ZETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
What a "year" for ADPi! :) Between the colonizations, recolonizations, and multiple presentations, our international team members have been doing a heck of a job! :)
|
I've often thought that Zeta Zeta chapter should do something about "ZZ Topp" - but I do have a sick sense of humor.
Congratulations yet again to the Presentation Committee!!!! MAJOR VIOLETS to them!!!! |

yay my chapter is on there!!!
|
I know we haven't touched this in a while but....
Can we change Delta Gamma from "recolonizing in 2008), to 2008 (the chapter actually has two charters, the original and the new one). Plus Theta Epsilon- Methodist University, Fayetteville, NC isn't listed.:D |
I brought our listing up to date, including... A NEW COLONY!! From the Website:
"Grand Council is pleased to announce that Alpha Delta Pi has been selected to colonize at James Madison University in the near future! After a competitive presentation process this spring, Phi Mu was invited to colonize at JMU in the Fall of 2010. At the same time, JMU’s Panhellenic invited Alpha Delta Pi to colonize at the next viable opportunity, most likely in Fall 2012. "Located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, James Madison University is a four year public institution, which enrolls 18,232 students. James Madison University offers baccalaureate degrees in the traditional liberal arts and sciences, business school, and interdisciplinary studies, along with Master's degrees in several specialized areas. Enrollment has been steadily increasing over the years and is projected to be at 24,000 in the next five years. James Madison University receives more admission applications than any other university in Virginia. For more information see the University's website: www.jmu.edu. "Currently, JMU is the home to nine National Panhellenic Council organizations including Alpha Phi, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Alpha Sigma Tau, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Sigma Kappa, Sigma Sigma Sigma, and Zeta Tau Alpha. "It is an extreme honor and privilege for Alpha Delta Pi to join JMU’s campus and Panhellenic! We look forward to "coming home" to James Madison University in the future!" This holds special interest to me; if y'all remember my saying that my little's twins are going to VA Tech and James Madison, and I was hoping that ADPi would colonize at James Madison - well, this is a dream come true! |

Theta Epsilon was 2008. I know this because the Spring 09 Adelphean featured TE and DG's colonization/recoloniztion. Question, I mean I know we have a bit more of Theta, but after Theta what would the chapter designations be? Iota? It seems odd to me because I remember when we were in Eta. |
just an edit, Gamma Upsilon was chartered in 1953 :)
|
To be added to the list....
University of Central Oklahoma- September 2012 Christopher Newport University- September 2012 James Madison University- September 2012 Santa Clara University- October 2012 Mississippi State University- January 2013 (Recolonization- Epsilon Eta) Sacred Heart University- January 2013 Virginia Commonwealth University- January 2013 University of Mississippi (Ole Miss)- Fall 2013 (Recolonization-Delta Sigma) Depending on their order of installation/initiation their chapter names will be... Theta Mu Theta Nu Theta Xi Theta Omicron Theta Pi Theta Rho Just an FYI- After the above 6 are installed/initiated the next in the roll call (for new chapters) would be... Theta Sigma Theta Tau Theta Chi Theta Phi Theta Upsilon Theta Psi Theta Omega Then we would move on to Iota chapter names |
I helped at recruitment for JMU and it was amazing to witness the start of a new colony! Do we know what the installation dates are for the other colonies? JMU will have initiation weekend Dec 1-2.
|
I'm not sure, but it would be awesome to attend! As I was packing over the summer, I found so many gently used t-shirts, and was thinking of donating most of them to a chapter. I think it's a trend that should be kept up!
|
The Santa Clara chapter will be installed Feb 9-10. And also note that it is not Santa Clara University but Santa Clara Panhellenic as the greek life is not affiliated with the University.
|
I saw that but I wasn't sure if it was correct (Panhellenic).
How come greek life isn't associated with the university? |
Greek life had been previously associated with the University, but from what I have gathered it is a Jesuit school that believed that the exclusivity of greek life organizations did not fit well to its own goals and ideals. So the University was going to phase out greek life, but instead greek life chose to leave the university and still thrive. It is a relationship that seems to work as it isn't hostile, just not connected.
