Just pointing out that making blanket statements based on misinformed stereotypes serves only to mask complex roots of terror/violence... and an imperfect understanding of the causes makes for an imperfect solution.

My degree in history didn't include much about the Crusades, but I think they were an effort by the Europeans to recover the Holy Lands - held by the infidels know as muslims.

This is what got us into this mess.

A branch of Islam believes they are destined to rule the entire Earth.

They think the Quran says all non-muslims are infidels, and that it says all infidels should be killed. They think 70 (+-) virgins await anyone who kills an infidel.

Killing innocent civilians, children, and women with a car bomb in the central market or with a roadside bomb is forgiven, if an infidel was the target.

This branch of Islam can never be understood, and it has no complex roots or stereotypes.

It must be defeated on the battle field, in Iraq, in Afganistran, in Canada, and in the USA, by any means possible.

France's current battles in the Muslim ghettos show that a policy of accomodating (understanding, seeking the roots, political correctness, etc.) these warriors fails absolutely.

Me neither, but I'm gonna guess no. I'm also gonna guess that they really weren't that close to them but that made it sounds like a "good" reason to detain them. :rolleyes:

What branch of Islam are we talking about here? In Iraq, there the two main ones are Sunnis and Shi'as..are you talking about one of these two? :confused:

Muslims don't have a monopoly on f'ed-up readings of holy scriptures now do they - one only has to look at the tools out there who think that Islamic writings are anymore of an advocate of violence than Christianity's - but hey what ever makes you happy in your understanding of the world (in f**ked racists land) thereby proving the old adage that ignorance is bliss.

France is suffering because of the racism and quasi-segregation they enforce for decades - if you constantly treat a people as second class don't expect them to take it forever; they will start to turn to people who promise them better no matter how messed up it sounds... but being a Bush-ite I expect you understand that falacy huh? You're completely correct - there are certainly as many misuses and misreadings of other holy books in other major world religions.

Now, if only there were some difference that makes some vocal minorities of the Muslim sects stand out against other renegade religious zealotry . . .
