jcbeta i really liked what you had to say in your first post, but when did this turn into a "well my school is just really really cool" thread? Don't get me wrong I LOVE UCSB and SD State...prob would've gone to either but didn't get in. I just don't really like the bragging tone you've taken.
I also wanted to add that I have seen it time and time again here at Chico and many other places...kids who think school is easy (and it might be for many) and so they join a fraternity/sorority, make lots of friends and party so hard that they forget to go to class and then - WHOOPS! You've failed your first semester. Then they spend the next 2 years at freshman status and on academic probation, kicked out of fraternity/sorority group because of grades, etc. and they wind up moving home. Wow that sounds like an awesome college experience to me. Oh wait no it doesn't. |

I thought that Riverside was the armpit. Hmmm...I do know that Riverside is the meth capital of CA if not the U.S. And to think I'm moving there in January. |

Can't forget the Show-Me State. I thought I read in Newsweek that Missouri actually knocked California out of 1st place as far as number of meth labs.

I just kinda got thinking "Damn! this kid is really going to dislike college if he's only going there for one reason." And so I just love that both UCSB and SD are both pretty well rounded schools. As apposed to only attracting kids who want to go away from home to party even harder. But yes, I def was bragging. My apoligies |
listen i am transferring from one of the best jc' in the U.S. Santa Rosa Junior College so i am not worried about the difficulty.
I have done enough partying to where it has effected my school work here, seeing that it takes me 2 1/2 years instead of 2 so i know where to draw the line now mainly i want to be partying thursday friday and saturday i am heavily into sports are there fraternities at sacramento that focus more on sports activities than any others, or how does that work? |
;) thanks jcbeta.
loccsta - give it up man. bottom line- if you are a fun person and determined to have fun wherever you are, then you will! quit trippin about it. and hey californians are real dammit. apparently they just really enjoy their meth. although im glad to hear we've been knocked out of our top spot. |

Really ! Any college has parties, (with the exception of those freakishly religious ones discussed on here a few times) and with your attitude I'm sure you'll find them. Worry about what school has the best rep. for your major, go there, the rest will follow. |
If I were you, i'd followed other people's advice and go for the school that will give you a good education and set you up for the future. I'm sure UCLA and Berkeley does their fair share of partying, while still give you a good education.
