Tonights episode was really good!! I really feel bad for Templetons COS, but I guess when you can't trust someone anymore you have to fire them. Did you see the previews for next week?!?! Mark Paul Gossler (Saved By the Bell and NYPD Blue) joins the cast. I think that is going to be good!!

Too bad she got fired. She was hot.

I still haven't seen the episode for tonight (another 1hr and 15 min to go! :D), but I wonder what this'll mean for Mac's CoS - did they explain the "relationship" between the two from last week?

The leak

Regarding the leak: During the 1st episode, after the small meeting where VP Allen is holding the resignation letter, once everyone left the room, either someone remained or someone walked back into the room and picked up the resignation letter. Does anyone remember who did that? I swear it happened! That person must be the leak.

I thought they figured out the leak for the book was the old president himself. Remember the end of the episode two weeks ago when her and Jim were talking about who was in the room when they disscussed what happened...it was was her, Jim, and the old president. While she wouldn't give out that info and Jim said he didn't either (I believe him) they put together that the only other person that could of done it was the old president...before he died of course!!

^I thought that was just a cover-up. I'm thinking the person's still out there.

I do remember that, but the actual letter that she wrote after the president's death became public, and he couldn't have had anything to do with that, since she didn't write it until after he died. I remember someone picking it up, I just can't remember who!

I meant to tape Tuesday's episode, but I left the VCR on the wrong channel. :(

Can I get a recap, please?

Senusret I 11-17-2005 10:11 PM

A tape was discovered with Templeton saying some racist things in 1965.

Templeton discovered that Mac's exec assistant was gay and HIV positive. Natasha Henstridge tipped off the black guy chief of staff. (Jim?) Black guy told Mac -- Mac asked gay guy to quit. Then Mac had a change of heart.

Mac gave her husband a job and nobody was happy about it.

Husband continued to be a prick to black guy. Black guy was all "You know where my office is, beeyatch."

Mac decides to show Templeton the tape and he damn near pees himself with humiliation. He told Mac he owed her one. He went home to his diabetic wife.

The first daughter is being branded a slut by the boy she kicked it with, humiliating her brother, who is a lazy schmuck failing his classes.

That's all I remember.

That was a great recap Senusret I, but just one more thing. Templeton figured out himself that his COS leaked out the info to the president that she has a gay assisistant with HIV and that he was going to tell the press. Templeton then fired her.

Overall I enjoy the show, but the "formula" is getting kind of old.

Pretty much the same thing happens every week.

I missed last week's show (the North Korea continuation).
I got about ten minutes in, and tape ran out.

Can someone fill me in? Thanks!

I haven't watched my tape yet, so if someone hasn't posted soon, I'll let you know! :) (Hopefully I can get it watched tomorrow before I have to go be an advisor :))

Recap for 1/17

The show begins with the news showing the North Koreans mobilizing their troops. Everyone in the White House is scrambling. The Chinese ambassador is playing hide and seek. Mac and Rod call in a North Korean government "specialist" from the University of Richmond. The Joint Chiefs of Staff want to station the rescue ship outside the 12 mile line and rescue from there, Jim wants to admit mistake and appeal for North Korea's help - specialist says North Korea will stall until sailors are dead and then plunder the ship, and Mac resolves to get the sailors out safely. Kelly gives a press conference, and Mrs. Templeton visits Jane at her lobbyist office and appeals to her to come back and leaves her saying that they never had the conversation. The meeting with the Chinese Ambassador would have the US using the Chinese rescue module and pilots "covertly" on an American ship and would keep to the original deal. Mac gets called to the sit. room, where North Korea shot at a US plane and caused injuries. The JCoS ask for a response. We then see Horace and Becca in their classroom, watching the news coverage; Mac talks to the captain of the sub, who've wired the ship and are awaiting orders, and gives her the okay to blow the ship before the rescue if necessary. Nathan has talked to the Chinese Ambassador - they're on board, but Jim's not fully on board. Nathan sides with Mac, and Mac talks to the Japanese Prime Minister, who reminds her of the impact of her decisions on Japan, which is much closer to NK than the US is. Kelly is talking to a member of the press, and a staffer comes in with the communication plan - it's missing some areas, so Dicky (Mark Paul Gosselar's (sp?) character) comes in a volunteers to take care of it, and the two of them share a moment of talking about their family members who are asking them about preparing for nuclear attack. Jane comes back to Templeton and apologizes, he takes her back as his CoS. In the sit room, they talk about the option of "buying" North Korean approval or beginning a war. The North Korean delegate to the UN comes to the White Housee to discuss the rescue and a deal: their food aid continues, and will be given $500 million in cash as "humanitarian aid", but only if no act of aggression occurs during the rescue. The NK delegate thanks Mac and leaves. Rod and Nathan join Mac in the Oval Office, where they each say a prayer for everyone. They show a montage of the "main characters" watching the news coverage, and Mac's mom comes to see if someone can talk to Amy. Mac goes, and she tries to calm Amy's concerns, thanks Horace for his help and says 'night to Becca when she's called back to the sit. room. The NK delegate calls Mac and agrees to the plan with one stipulation - the US must apologize for what they dd, which Mac agrees to. The North Korean ships guarding the 12 mile line back off. Mac goes to the Oval Office, and tells Rod she can't leave while the sailors are still down there. She's called back to the sit. room for a secure transmission from the lead rescue ship - the crew of the submarine is safe and the sub has been destroyed. Nathan isn't pleased that Mac is planning to apologize as promised. Dicky kisses Kelly in excitement about Mac's work in the situation. Mac gives a press conference and apologizes, then calls Kelly, Jim, Rod, and Dicky into the Oval Office and tells them she thinks they deserve another 4 years in there. Jane and Nathan discuss Mac's handling of the situation. Mac tucks Amy in, then talks to Becca, who says that she's really proud of Mac. Mac goes into the kitchen and talks with Mom about the rush of being the president, and then they finish with sitting at the kitchen table and talking.

Next week: Air Force One is being held hostage; Becca and Horace hold party at the White House.
